Up for auction is this 1961 Corvair 95 Forward Control Rampside Truck. This truck was restored about 20 years ago and wasn't driven much since then. It sat garaged for the last 10 years with no use until recently being brought back to life. Recent work includes: new battery, oil change, new brake flex lines, brakes flushed and bled, tune-up, new headlight adjusters, and other misc. work needed to get it back on the road and driving well. Previous owner said that he installed a 110hp engine (pics of block number included). This truck has an air cooled 6 cylinder with a 4 speed manual transmission. The engine runs very well and all gears work as they should. The truck runs and drives well and has a great feel and ride to it, unlike any other vintage truck I've driven. All lights (original T-3 headlights), gauges, wipers, speedometer, door locks, and windows work as they should. The heater, horn, and turn signal switch do not function. Turn signals should work fine with a simple turn signal cam change. Overall the body is fairly straight and solid with some minimal bubbling starting to come through in the rockers. Paint shines well and is respectable for being done 20 years ago, but is also beginning to show it's age. Odometer shows around 32k miles and I would assume that it has turned over once. Has a little shimmy if taking off in 1st gear quickly and I would suspect that the transmission mounts are getting soft and could use a replacement set to help this problem. After getting use to it you can slowly let the clutch out to avoid this problem. Front seat recently recovered with period correct custom made cover. Brakes and tires are good. Overall a very nice driving truck that could use very little to make it great again. These trucks are getting hard to come by in this condition and are very useful and had a great design to them. Hopefully the next owner will enjoy it as much as I have.
