Vehicle Detail
I have used this car on a daily basis to drive to and from work. I am the third owner and have spent considerable time and money making sure this car is in good mechanical order. I drove this car nearly 100 miles every day and average around 42 MPG with traffic and some spirited driving. Every issue, problem, upgrade will be documented in this thread so that you have all information upfront. The car has not been modified or raced, or any of that stuff. If you want a good, reliable car, this is it. I have some records for the vehicle going back into the 90's, all the maintenance from the previous owner (more than 5 years) was done at http://www.trianglemotors.com/. The original, Honda, in dash radio will come with the car, not the expensive unit pictured. Further information. VX: Fitted with only manual transmission, the VX was very similar to the base model CX but gained improved fuel efficiency through a 92 hp 1.5 L VTEC-E engine yielding 48/55 mpg (city/hwy) [revised to 2008 EPA rating: 39/49 mpg city/hwy[3]] or 44/51 mpg (city/hwy) [revised to 2008 EPA rating: 36/46 mpg city/hwy[4]]. In Canada, it was rated by Transport Canada fuel consumption estimate: 4.7L/100km city and 4.3L/100km hwy.[5] Other features were an 8K tachometer with redline at 6K RPM, lightweight 13-inch (330 mm) aluminum alloy rims, as well as additional front & rear under-body trim additions to improve aerodynamic flow.[citation needed] To this day, the CX & VX models are lauded as one of the gasoline-powered cars that rival fuel economy of hybrids and diesels -- in the March 2010 issue of Car & Driver, it mentions its long-term test car, a 2009 VW TDI Jetta with 6-speed dual-clutch auto transmission, got worse fuel mileage (38 mpg) than their 1992 Honda Civic VX test car (which got 41 mpg) and 2000 Honda Insight hybrid (48 mpg).[6
