Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ. This car has absolutely zero bondo. ALL METAL... The previous owner began a custom restoration by putting nearly 6k into an engine rebuild on the original 455 cid. Has a mild cam, Thorley headers with custom 3" exhaust all the way back, and aftermarket intake and carb. The original intake and Quad Carb is in the trunk. He was going to put a 700r4 tranny in it, however, after re-fitting the engine mounts and running the exhaust, found that he could not get proper fitment. In turn, he got upset and sold the vehicle off. The original transmission is back in the car and the shifter linkage needs to be addressed. I believe the mileage to be original. The instrument console is near flawless,...in beautiful condition. The steering wheel is mint. Their is one crack in the dash and the original upholstery has cracks in the seats, which is normal for this area of the states, it is extremely dry here in Colorado. I would much rather be doing an interior than doing rust removal! All glass is in excellent condition, as is the headliner, carpet, rear sails, and rear deck area. The power windows are in good working condition. This engine rumbles....period. Just awesome...As I mentioned the original intake set up is in the trunk along with the original dual 455-4 snorkel air cleaner, but the exhaust manifolds are not. The A/C compressor and all mounting brackets are also in the trunk, but it may need to be rebuilt. She has the rare front cornering lights, power windows, power brakes, tilt steering column, AND A 12 BOLT POSI REAR END...RARE RARE RARE. These options are just huge plus to this, not so far away, beautiful classic. The wheels are even in great condition. Its missing I believe 2 PMD center caps, and one of the 4 beauty rings has some flaws, but the rest are perfect. Overall, this is an extremely rare find. The body is super straight, and near dent and ding free. Minus some damage to the front of the right door (including moulding), right side rocker moulding, and lower right fender. All repairable. The bumpers, front and rear, all lens and housings, and the grille are just in beautiful condition. The rear license plate plastic is cracked. .....Take a look at the picture of the quarter panel....absolutely cherry...and original! I based a price off of what "is" honestly there, and what "has" been done. This is a completely, rust (maybe some surface, but NO ROTT) and bondo free vehicle with the right options, and a completely rebuilt motor. Yes, she needs some attention, but very little. The car literally talks to me every time I look at it. My hope is, that it may do the same for you. I am a real classic car nut. In my years of buying, selling, and collecting, I have developed an appreciation of truly unique classic vehicles. Inparticularly, vehicles that no-one else around has. Yes, I do like, and have owned my share of Chevelles, Roadrunners, and big finned Cadillacs.....but why get what everyone else has? I have done my best to accurately describe the vehicle. Anything I may have missed is un-intentional. I will do my best to answer all questions as prompt as possible.Shipping will be the sole respossibility of the buyer. I will make myself available to assist in loading the vehicle. The car and clear Colorado title (in hand) shall not be released until funds have cleared my bank. Shes beautiful...Thank you P.S. Check out the awesome 'That 70's show' linoleum and carpet in the trunk!
