White Exterior / Blue Interior VIN: 1GCHC33F4VF001037 4 Doors, Rear Wheel Drive, Pickup, 8 Cylinders, Automatic Inventory ID: 001037 Vehicle Description UPDATE.......UPDATE, This truck is approaching its 60day birthday with our dealership....Time to go....NO RESERVE AUCTION Up for your consideration is very rare gem, a 1997 Chevrolet 3500 Crew Cab Dually with unheard of low miles. It is not just the low miles that makes this so rare, it is powered by the GM collaborated 6.5 Turbo Diesel. Love it or hate it, the 6.5 was a rare piece and those that were kept well serviced gave great service and sought out all across the globe. I have personally owned 2 6.5L Diesels back in college and had the same love and hate relationship. I owned a 1995 crew cab 4x4 dually and had absolute hell, but ended up trading it for a 1995 2door Tahoe and absolutely loved it while putting over 150,000 miles on it. The last time I saw it, it was wearing over 350,000 miles and still going strong. I have tracked most of its history and can say without a doubt, it is wearing its true and original miles. I have the title on this truck and it has been owned by what I believe to be the 2nd owner for just right at 10 years. He bought the truck in South Carolina wearing 26,838 and moved to Texas in June of 2002 and registered it with 30,217 miles on it. It is still on its South Carolina title. From what I was told, the owner's health was fading and had a family friend that was in the car business in a small town about an hour from my location. It did not take long for the word to get around that I like weird and hard to find diesels. That is when it came to my location and I have been researching and inspecting it ever since. I do not know much about the first owner but I am showing it to be the original owner and that he bought the truck new in North Carolina and it was used in North Carolina as well. If you could go back to 1997 then you would this truck then as it is today. It is immaculate and has been garage kept, both inside and out. First clue is the original door handles, I believe starting in 1996 GM went to a textured door handle as opposed to the smooth paint handles, these handles look new and it did not take long for the original ones to look weathered should they be outdoors. All of the plastic on the bumpers looks great, the second indicator to look for. I have inspected the entire exterior and feel confident that every piece of sheet metal is original and has never been painted or repaired. We did repair a small spot on the drivers side dually running board, but the fender is in excellent condition. The tires are in good condition and are not the originals, however I have not been able to determine when they were installed. On the interior, everything looks great. The seats are still soft and are NOT cracked! All of the carpet is in excellent condition and the original floor mats still have the "titties" still intact. The only downfall to the interior is the fact that we did have to re-glue the wooden dash bezel and it just doesn't look 100%. As stated above, this truck has the very rare 6.5L Turbo Diesel under the hood. The 6.5L replaced the old 6.2L Diesel and was a vast improvement in power. The first year for the 6.5L was 1992 and was originally all mechanical injection, starting in 1994 GM went to an electronic injection system and only made minor changes until 2000, the last year the 6.5L was offered in the truck line. However I think the 6.5L was offered in the civilian Hummer H1 until 2003, but I am told AM General still uses the 6.5L today. I have inspected the engine and feel it is all original with NO modifications. Lastly according to the sticker in the glovebox, it is geared 4.10 with limited slip. Extremely clean is the only way to describe this truck. The paint shines wonderfully and is all original. As for the interior, there are NO signs of abuse. It has NO funky smells, NO signs or smells of smoking, and NO signs of unruly children or pets. The bed cover appears to have been installed when new and there has never been a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch in the bed. The factory receiver hitch shows little signs of use, however there is cab installed brake controller, so it has towed a little and according to my research was used for moving to Texas and pulling a travel trailer on occasion. Once again, this truck has not been abused and is like new condition. Performance Unlimited is a small specialty dealer located in West Texas about 300 miles west of the Dallas-Ft Worth Region.
