Vehicle Detail

1967 Buick Special deluxe with 45000 original miles. I am the second owner. the car is rust free and has always been stored indoors. the car was repainted in 2001 and still looks very nice. the body is extremely straight and flat. The car drives like a new car and has zero issues. brakes, steering, electrical and drivetrain work perfectly. Engine and trans the engine is a 300 with a 2 barrell carburator and it runs perfectly. the choke works and there are no unusual noises or leaks. Transmission is the original super turbine 300 and it functions flawlessly. the variable pitch torque converter functions as designed and the original linkage and switches on carb work perfectly. the exhaust was converted to dual exhaust many years ago and it gives a nice mild rumble. it is in good shape and should be fine for many years to come. brakes and suspension The factory manual drum brakes are in good condition and work just fine. the shocks are newer and are a bit firmer than OEM. I have installed a set of boxed lower control arms on the rear along with a rear swaybar and all new hardware. this really helped out in the handling and firmness of the suspension. I also installed a 1 1/8 front swaybar with new bushings and hardware. the springs and the remaining suspension is all stock and as delivered by GM in 1967. Interior The interior is all original and in very good shape given how old it is. the dash pad is soft and shows very good color with no fading. the headliner is in great shape as are the sun visors and rerar view mirror. the carpet is faded but not ripped or torn. all glass on the car is in excellent condition and is crystal clear. door panels are perfect and show no fading. arm rest bases still have shiny chrome and the pads are perfect. radio works perfectly and has very nice sound quality. body The car was repainted in 2001 and while not show quality it does look very nice. the panels are nice and smooth with no signs of any previous bodywork anywhere. the core support and inner fenders are rust free and in excellent shape. grill is original and has only one small crack ( just try finding an original 67 GS or special grill without a crack) the rear window channel is perfect. the trunk is dry and perfect. there isnt one single pinhole or blister. the original spare tire, jack and all hardware is still there including the spare tire board. Wheels and tires I have the original 14" wheels and deluxe hubcaps. currently on the car are a set of brand new 15" buick rally wheels with new reproductiin center caps. the fronts are 15x7 and the rear are 15x8. front tires are new cooper cobra 236/60/15 and the rear are cooper cobra 255/60/15. While this car is not a show car it certainly grabs attention whenever i drive it and it looks good enough to do well in local shows and at cruise ins. Note: while the V.I.N says the car is a 43517 (v6 model) the cowl tag shows that it was ordered with the optional v8 engine. the cowl tag shows series 43617 which is a V8 car. the car is in fact numbers matching and this was one way people were able to get a cheaper price on a optional V8 car in 1967. On Feb-05-12 at 19:42:40 PST, seller added the following information: when ther ca was painted all the trim and chrome was removed. i find no overspray or tape lines on any of the trim or weatherstripping. the flaws in the paint are not easily noticed unless you go over the car carefully. from 5 feet away it looks like a high end paint job. from 20 feet it looks like a new car. I also have 1/2 quart of touch up paint and clear to repair any chips that should occur while enjoying the car on the road.
