Vehicle Detail
A project that I won’t finish – Maybe you want to! The motorcycle has been sitting in storage for years and it’s time to move it out. Started out as a 1971 Triumph Bonneville (have clean title). The frame is a custom TrackMaster that was made with a 29 degree head instead of the usual 22 degrees and not nickel plated (as they all were). The frame itself is the oil tank (just noticed the new TrackMaster frames do not use the frame as an oil tank). The engine has been completely reworked. Starting with a Chantland alloy 750cc cylinder & piston set, the head was sent to Tom Sifton who flowed and polished the head, installed his oversize valves and installed the adaptors for the Mikuni carbs (have complete jet and slide assortment for them). The engine has, as you might imagine, Sifton cams that are degreed in. The Chantland pistons are attached to a spin balanced crank with a pair of Carrillo rods. The four speed transmission was replaced with the later 5 speed gear set – all shafts and gears were selected only after passing zyglo inspection. I know the clutch is trick, but I have forgotten what it is. The stock point ignition was swapped out for a Sebring pointless CDI ignition system. Starting at the front – Ceriani forks holding a KimTab 19” magnesium wheel with twin plasma coated 10” aluminum disks and Lockheed racing calipers using a Fontana magnesium master cylinder (lever was broken during a move). Tommaselli clip-ons with a TD2B throttle and I forget whose clutch / switch lever. The fuel tank is an OEM Yamaha TD2B tank that has been modified to fit the TrackMaster frame. You’ll see an oil cooler and oil filter. The seat is a TD2B OEM seat. Rear wheel is a KimTab 18” magnesium wheel with another plasma coated aluminum disk – this one 9”- with Lockheed caliper. Koni shocks with 88lb springs (I weighed 150 lbs). The rear master cylinder doesn’t displace enough fluid so it needs to be replaced with something else. Everything on the bike is new (and now old stock) with the exception of the engine cases. The tires are long since shot….. To finish – coil needs to be mounted to frame – bike wired – fabricate exhaust system - mounts for the aftermarket TD2B fiberglass fairing and some other odds and ends. There is a hairline crack in the fairings windscreen. Then fire the puppy up – The biked was filled with real Castrol caster oil and spun over to get the oil every where and kicked over whenever someone thought to do it, so all should be good inside – BUT NO guarantees. And for historic grins, I have most, if not all of the receipts (that I am not going to add up!) Shipping is on you – The Motorcycle is in storage in Winston-Salem, North Carolina - NOT with me in Oregon - once we know where you are we will figure out what it is going to cost to get it to you.
