For sales is a 1961 Cadillac asking $1995 will consider offers. This car is a restorer's dream. The body is in really good shape, very little rust, the passenger door appears to have had something possibly leaning on the door that promoted some rust on it, it's still solid there. The bottoms of the doors and side panels are very clean considering. There are a few minor dings but overall very clean. Interior is in pretty good condition a few small issues, there is a hole about the size of a half dollar in the headliner, there are signs of aging/ pitting and or rust on the interior chrome and the upholstery could use a thorough cleaning, other than that it's pretty nice, not really torn or worn real bad. A thorough cleaning would bring this car back to life, except for the motor. The motor is locked up, I'm not sure if it's locked up from sitting so long and just needs to be taken apart, cleaned and lubed or if it is actually locked up. Everything on the car is original. Power windows you can hear the motor kick on but the windows are stuck, same with the seats. The radio comes on but could only faintly hear anything. This is a really cool car. The tall tail fins make it for me. From what I understand the original owner of the car drove it from 1961 when it was new to about 1976. He turned ill and parked it in the barn. He lived for many years after that but was never able to drive again. Sometime while it was parked his grandchildren tried to get the trunk open and pushed the lock in. It stayed in the barn until recently when my friend purchased it from the estate. My friend bought it with the intention of restoring it however other projects came up that took priority. So he asked me to list it for him. Worst case scenario there are hundreds of parts that are all original that could be parted out for a huge profit. This car can be picked up by the buyer at no charge. The seller is somewhat negotiable as to when the seller picks it up, it is being stored under roof. Should the buyer need to have the car delivered, the service USHIP estimates the cost between $0.75 - $1.15 per mile to have a transporter pick it up and deliver it. This is in no way a shipping quote. Just an estimate one company says is average. The car is located in Highland, Illinois (about 20 miles east of St. Louis, Mo.) so you can calculate your milage. The owner drove the car under it's own power into the barn, there it sat for all those years now it's locked up. As far as we know the motor should be fine after soaking the pistons/ cylinders and "de-gunking".
