Hello all, Up for sale is my 74 Porsche 911 Targa. This is a looker. I unfortunately had engine problems when she was purchased and so she went to get the motor top end rebuilt. I took her to a shop which I was informed had history on working on it. Motor was rebuilt and it ran fine for a week or so but then the motor started smoking and was sent back to get looked at. It was returned again with instructions to add 1200 - 1500 miles on it to break in rebuild under 5,000 RPM. Long story short the motor was destroyed due to improper rebuild. So I am out of a motor and have no intention on adding another to her. So I want to try and give someone a chance to start with areally great base for a project or beautiful restore. If my reserve is not met then I have no choice but to part her out to try and recoup a fraction of the money she has cost me ( To say the least ). This is a low mileage 74 Targa. Rare breed and handles great. It has the Fuchs which are wider in the rear. Please look at the pics and ask as many questions as you like. Car is at the shop at this time and it will need to be towed or shipped by the new owner if reserve is met. Interior is a burgandy cloth. Driver seat has some tears on the bolster side. Carpet is original mohair and needs replacing. Car has 5 speed transmission which shifts flawlessly. Newer clutch assembly. She handled very well when driven. There is some slight bubbling in the pain on the lower front of the hood and around the Bosch Porsche 911 headlights. Engine does not come with the car. It needs only a complete engine with new mounts etc and is road worthy. Of course this vehicle is over 30yrs old so there may be some maintainanence items to look after. It can be picked up in New Hyde Park Long Island NY. For questions please feel free to ask. It is trully a remarkable car. Paint is still shiny as seen in pics with a good wash and wax. It has aluminum braided brake lines.
