Vehicle Detail

A true find!! This all original (to my eyes) 1957 Bel Air two door post is an excellent candidate for a complete restoration or complete parts car. Car has what appears to be an original v-8 Engine and is able to be turned by hand. The car seems to be 98% all original and all complete. Unit has been last tagged in 1969 and I was told it has been parked indoor an old barn from 1973-2009 when it was placed outside. If now resides under a lean on my barn. Almost all of the chrome is present; the side piece on the front passenger side is inside the car and not bent. I would say most of the chrome is complete and not pitted or damaged, but the front and rear plated bumpers show rust/rot. The entire bottom of both sides of the car is rotten, doors and rockers. There is also only a hole, about 4" square just inside the driver’s door. The dash is all there and not damaged, would just need a cleaning to be 'restored'. The seats are original and should be repaired for a restored car. This would make a great restoration candidate, but will need some metal work before the easy part comes!! I am starting this auction with no reserve. I will NOT entertain lower offers. If I do not get this price out of this rare car the first time around, it will go into the shop around the first of next month to be disassembled for a parts car. I HATE to do that as it does come with a clear- numbers matching title. Car is sold AS-IS, we have not even attempted to start it, nor will we. See the below information for codes/colors/ other specs from the factory. This is a pay-upon-pickup sale only. I will NOT ACCEPT Paypal for anything more than the $200.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit that is due within 24 hours of auctions end. I WILL NOT WAIVE THIS OR HEAR OF REASONS WHY YOU CAN'T!! If you are the successful bidder, you own the car! If you want to view it, call me to set-up a time. No refunds will be given. It is sold- as-is. Good luck on bidding on this rare car!!! A true barn find with numbers matching title!!! Call with questions or to view at 419-810-9042. I do have a way to help load onto a trailer by pulling it on. Would be best to winch onto trailer though to prevent damage. Details from the VIN and TAG: This was the 37254 car to be built in 57, built in Flint Mi. Black and Red Imitation Leather Cloth interior, Paint color number shown. On Jan-13-12 at 20:53:02 PST, seller added the following information: This car is not a two door post, it is the more valuable and sought after two door hardtop as the VIN and Tag state. I will be posting a very detailed listing tomorrow along with more photos. Thank you for the great amount of inquiry!!On Jan-14-12 at 11:21:33 PST, seller added the following information: O.K….. I have had TONS of calls from ALL OVER the country! Here is a link to almost 70 photos taken Today(Saturday). http://s1172.photobucket.com/albums/r564/akramp1/ We did have a little snow so I'm sorry that there is some on this car! This is one reason I am not keeping... it will sit for a few years before I can get to restoring it! The car is a 2 Door Hardtop- NOT POST!! Many people have told me this and thank you! Here are answers to some questions. If you have more, feel free to e-mail or call me. Please give me time as the response has been HUGE! The car has one broken window- the driver's side rear glass for the back seat. It does not leak but is cracked. All other glass is in tact. The car will need, but is not limited to, floor, truck floor, door bottoms, rockers. Please see photos. All knobs/interior pieces seem to be there. There are THREE old CB's inside, two speakers, mounted under the dash. Missing one piece of stainless for the Passenger side. All other is in tact or with the car as far as I can tell. Does not have power windows, locks, steering. Tires will not hold air. I can help load using my Bobcat. Car has an automatic powerglide transmission. Motor turns by hand easily. Everything seems to be present as it should under the entire hood. Car was last licensed in 69'. Was parked for good in 73'. Title I got was from 66'. I have given the link for the photos of the color/paint/interior trim, numbers on engine and the VIN number. Seems to be Orig paint and interior- two tone seats. Feel free to call or send me a message thru Ebay. The car will not be sold off Ebay. It will sell to the highest bidder as I have had offers ALL OVER price wise and offers from ALL OVER the country. Bid now and Good Luck!! On Jan-17-12 at 06:14:23 PST, seller added the following information: After more and more questions here are some answers: The trunk is now open. Driver's side floor is shot on the trunk, replacing the entire floor is necessary. Frame seems to have more scale on the Driver's side than the passenger side, however I could not get my finger to press thru at any point. In the trunk was the following: 2 original color fender skirts, spare 14" tire and rim(holding air), black vinyl cover with snaps and zippers(for the top?) old fire extinguisher and a system of wiring for signal lights... which leads me to further believe that this was originally a fire chief or police chief car when it was new. The original jack is there along with a tire iron. Frame seems pretty solid all under car- worst part is drivers side right behind rear tire. The truck lid is the roughest of all body parts(minus the rockers). I do not currently have keys, I am working on this. The car will sell without a set, but I am hoping to have some made by a locksmith, but if this does not happen, sorry!! I have uploaded more photos of the trunk area onto the same link as above and below. This will give you a visual of the trunk and additional components I found. http://s1172.photobucket.com/albums/r564/akramp1/ Feel free to come and see the car for an inspection at anytime, just call before. However Thursday evening I now have a meeting that will begin at 7 PM so all calls should be made PROIR to then and will be returned in the order received. Naturally, when the auction will END is during the meeting... CALL BEFORE to get questions answered!! The meeting will typically last at least TWO HOURS!! Andrew 419-810-9042
