1939 Chevrolet Deluxe Master - 2 Door "WOW" helps describe this exceptional find. Just acquired from a gentleman owner of over 23 years. Restored some years ago and still benefits from most of its improvments. The paint, although repainted is not perfect but still retains it's luster. The paint is NOT thinning, faded, cracking or pealing. However, the pictures may make it look better. The tires are older but look new with no signs of aging. The bumpers were rechromed back then and still look great. Front windshield glass and back glass was replaced and there is discoloration on the side glass. Rubber matting on the running boards look brand new. The interior was completely reupholstered with period correct material back then, doesn't show any wear but shows its age, especially the headliner. Its "saggy". It should be redone again for show. The older restoration was done on what looks like a very rust free body - no signs of rust repair or bondo. The exception being that the trunk floor was replaced. Looks like new fender welting was installed at restoration. No signs of any accident damage either. This is a very rock solid '39 Chevrolet to enjoy as is or elevate to the next level of perfection. Previous owner claimed it has not been driven for years. Had a friend from the car club come over and start it up. He brought his own battery and auxillary gas tank - tinkered a little and had it running in the driveway. The gas would not pump from its own tank. Needs gas line cleaned or maybe a fuel pump although the fuel pump looks to have been replaced. The car smoked and idled a little rough. Only ran it for about 10 minutes or so. Had good oil pressure. It did not have any unusual noises but did smoke. The amp meter showed a charge and the temp gauge worked. All the lights worked as did the horn. The radio did not come on. There is a very old battery in the car and most likely no good. Added brake fluid and the brakes are very spongey. This is just a very desirable, neat old Chevrolet. The odometer shows 52,000 miles but have no proof it is actual. Not many of these around that haven't been altered or rodded. It is a straight, unmolested, rust free Chevrolet that looks sharp and will make some one a very good buy. You will be impressed. Stop by and see it if you can.
