Out-of-state buyers are required to tax, title and plate the vehicle in their own state (unless otherwise stated...read below). If you live in Illinois but reside in Cook county you must pay the cook county tax rate of 8.25%. In January 2007 Illinois and other states intiated a new tax program, some out of state buyers taxes will be collected here and then they will not pay them again when they go to register in your own state. Ask dealer if your state is included and what the tax percent is before bidding.
