YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. If you do a Google image search for Star Wars Van this comes up on the front page. (whoops, I just checked again and it turns up on the SECOND page.) (Whoops! wrong again, now it IS on the front page....) Graphics were professionally designed and installed. Detail is excellent and there is absolutely NO FADING! THe 4 foot wide X wing has just set off the chain reaction that destroys the Death Star and is flying RIGHT AT YOU, casting its own shadow.... Vader is pissed... This van started out as a lovingly cared for custom van. When I got it, the headers, flares, front spoiler, and dash tach were still there. I am only the third owner. It had a custom interior at one time but much of it had been removed and the van sat for a while. It came with lots of spares and ran great. It was the perfect blank slate........ We got busy. The force was with us. 79 Dodge shorty- ONLY 85k orig miles. Taken on many trips. With the turn of the key, 8 cylinders roar to life and settle down to an intoxicating rumble... This time machine is transporting you back to the days when gas was cheap and everyone wanted a rolling luxury suite... Now you've got your own.... She is a reliable and smooth road tripping, award winning, show van. Gets 14 mpg when driven conservatively. Can tow a trailer, w class 3 hitch, and even kill some WOMP RATS if needed EXTERIOR: There are lots of custom mods, caddie taillights, shaved door handles, Door Poppers, custom rear bumper with LED light bar -This southern van is SOLID No rust popping out, all custom bodywork done in steel. I have many build pictures if interested. 318 with long tube headers and quadrajet. 727 trans, HEI modified ignition, upgraded to performance E coil. One piece rear door. Vintage flares and spoiler RARE Norcal style basket handle spoiler on rear all in nice condition. attached with stainless screws. Pop up Sunroof. Vintage refridge-cooler (one bag of ice lasts all weekend.) Vintage dash tach, Side pipes. etc etc. SHE HAS EVERYTHING. This van collects a crowd wherever I go. I seriously underestimated the public reaction this vehicle would get. Kids point, mouths gape, even had a cop turn around and pull over to have his picture made with it. I have owned many awesome cars over the years and this one has been the MOST fun. People actually hang out of their car taking pictures as you drive down the INTERSTATE! This van was one of those life experience check offs. "Owned an amazing custom star wars van-CHECK". Whoever buys her, you are buying not just a van, but a LIFE EXPERIENCE. Are you a minor celebrity? Well, get ready. The van drives great! I have taken it on multiple cross country trips. Even though it has low miles and the drivetrain is solid, there are a few little things you could do. The front end may need an alignment due to my replacing both pitman arms, but doesn't pull one way or the other. There is a slight transmission leak, and I have had an issue with the electric fuel pump losing its prime if parked on a steep uphill, for a few days. (I think I will just put a mech pump back on) There is a slight exhaust leak at the collector on the pass side. She is smooth all the way up to top speed (around 100mph) Makes great power, no smoke on startup or otherwise. New hoses belts thermostat, alternator, regulator, starter relay, etc. Cold air w new compressor/134a. vintage cruise control, jvc CD w ipod aux. input The class 3 hitch pulls great, and the trans shifts solid. All in all, it would make a road trip no problem. We use this van alot as you can see in the pics. INTERIOR is out of this world. Looks like the inside of a spaceship. Han Solo would certainly approve. Custom headliner, overhead console, bench folds into bed, Front swivel reclining buckets, New black shag carpet, with red stripe down the middle. reading lights. central swivel bucket. Late model front engine cover with cup holders and storage pockets, All upholstery matching and in excellent shape. non smoking household. TERMS: I really do not want to sell to someone who cannot keep her covered. Garage or carport is a MUST. If you don't have one then LIE TO ME. This has been a real labor of love and it would be a tragedy to let it sit out in the weather. I would consider a partial trade but the reason I am selling is that I am in a cash bind. The price is not cheap but if you ever wanted to build this magic carpet, you could not touch it for the buy it now unless you did most of the work yourself over a couple of years.. I would like to have first right of refusal if you ever decide to sell. Personally, I would not trust one of those vehicle transportation services. If wanted, I could drive the van to your location for a fee, or you could fly in and I could pick you up at the birmingham airport. Camping is awesome... The kids slept in the tent ;) This interior picture is early in the restoration process. Note the wires hanging down. If you have KIDS like we do then take my word for it, they will LOVE it almost as much as you do.
