Vehicle Detail

For auction is my 1982 911SC coupe. Although I've owned it for a few years, here, in Cincinnati, Ohio, it has been garaged the whole time it has been here, as well as when it was previously owned in Oregon. For 10 years, out there, it was a barn sleeper. Explains the good overall condition. A year ago last June, the "designated driver" of an admittedly drunk girl (Kristen Johann), who was the owner/passenger of another vehicle, jumped a traffic island and t-boned the front left fender of this car. I was unsuccessful in getting a good trial against the owner (Judge Shweikert asked the wrong person (designated driver) for her insurance, without asking the car's owner!), who was uninsured, and even though Kristen attacked me physically at the scene while I was talking to 9-1-1 on my cell phone, by the time the police arrived, both girls lied to the police, and to the judge, in court, about their culpability and also said that I had attacked them. Since I had no witness to corroborate my story and they were incohoots (probably meth heads), I was actually found guilty of assault against her by Judge Lisa Allen (link), even though she heard me being struck and yelled at by Johann when the 9-1-1 recording was played back in court! I think our local justice system is either corrupt or incompetent - or both? They had brought in photos to court, taken of Johann's face, which showed a little bruising (probably put there by makeup or her heavy metal boyfriend?). Although the police indicated that they saw no injuries at the scene and that I had cooperated in a calm manner, the spurned woman judge in the assault trial sided with the female plaintiff. Turns out that the prosecutor was a former car valet who had parked my Porsche before! Small town haters! Anyway, after being wrecked into, I spent about $20k fixing up this old coupe, just on principal (iukwim). Photos show the before (when this car was its original "Platinmetallic"), and after, once body work had been done and a complete sand-down and respray was done in Porsche "Dunkelblau." (That's German for "Dark Blue.") It looks fantastic and accelerates like a scalded dog. There's only two major problems with it that I know of: I was recently told that 3 of the 24 head studs are broken, or not right in some way. To fix this I'm told would require dropping the engine and, once doing that, they always replace the whole two dozen head studs at once. This would cost around $4500 at most capable garages. Car still drives fine, so I've been putting that off... The other problem is that, when the body shop removed the front windshield (Orr's Auto Body, Madisonville, Ohio), they dropped the glass and it shattered. So they replaced it, but they ended up taking over 9 months to complete the job of the body work and hadn't yet painted it. That's when I had the pieces driven (on two flatbed trucks) to another body shop (West Chester Auto Body) who are responsible for the respray and reassembly. They managed to get the paint right, but they didn't manage to get the windshield water-proof. There's a small leak when it rains or when I go in a car wash on the right side of the windshield. So, I've only driven it in sunny weather since last Spring when I took redelivery of this car. Air conditioning is original design, but works great (blows cold!). Cruise control seems to work most of the time. Shifting is solid. Has Swepco gear lube. Chain tensioner update. Air box is newer than kind which needs pop-valve mod, from what I was told - not sure.... Has AM/FM/CD radio with removable control face. The feel of driving the old-school 911 is much more interesting and satisfying to me than, say, the 993, which I drove for a short while. The SC is the last model which has its feet still in the glorious past of Porsche's hand-built street coupes. Buy this car and drive it home. It was my daily driver until Grandpa passed, earlier this year. I've been keeping the 911 in his apartment garage across the street from me (since I've been driving Grandpa's old 540i), however, his condo is about to be sold, which means I can't keep it parked indoors much longer. I stand behind this car's merchantability. The title is free of liens and is in my name. I can supply repair receipts, if interested. Thanks for reading all this. As Christ is my witness, it is the truth. Andrew Hamilton 513-542-3555 On Dec-31-11 at 13:03:02 PST, seller added the following information: I've just added some more photos of this car. The odometer reads 46,291 miles. I have no way of verifying that it is the original speedometer, although I also have no reason to doubt the vendor from whom I purchased it. The body condition does seem consistent with a low miles West Coast 911. The dashboard close-up shows a tear in the leather. This is the same side of the windshield as the small leak, but the leak is higher up than the dashboard. The seat cushion for the child's seat in the back, on the right side of the car (behind the front passenger) has a tear. The other cushion doesn't (Sorry Tim, forgot that part), Also, the rear seat cushions are no longer glued down. I usually drive with the rear seat backs down, in suitcase-carrying mode. The black paint is coming off the trim, here and there. Don't know why the body shop didn't touch that up. They only painted the body, itself. ? Could probably be touched up by the purchaser with some "fing-nail polish." There appears to be a slow leak of air from the right rear tire. Might need to top off every couple of weeks or so. Otherwise, they are all in fair condition. The brakes are good. Recent tuneup and oil change. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail. Happy New Year, and Happy Kwanzaa, Everybody! (:
