Vehicle Detail

I am offering a cherished 1978 Chevy Camaro LT with T-Tops for sale. This is a one Alabama family owned vehicle, and it is in absolute great original condition with 138,000 original miles! Original un-molested motor and transmission, even still has all the smog stuff hooked up and in place! We bought it from the owner whose father bought it for him in high school and he drove it until 1993 when it was then stored in a climate controlled garage until August 2011. It has been garaged since new. It has never sat in the sun or weather, EVER! No rusted out panels, floors, etc. like every other one you will find. Never any damage whatsoever to the body, never any paint work, ALL ORIGINAL. Has the original hood mat underneath the hood. Even has all the original glass and chrome trim work around all windows. The interior is all original except for a nice Hurst Dual Gate shifter and is in good condition as well. Dash is not even cracked! All gauges work including the clock. Has brand new tires and a brand new battery. The car was drained of fluids before being stored for the 18 years. It was gone through when it was brought out this summer and runs pretty good. Rides and drives well down the road, brakes work well, power steering works perfect. This was an original A/C car, however the compressor failed at some point and was not replaced. The rest of system is there though. If I were going to keep it and drive, I would at least freshen this motor as everything in it, gaskets, seals, etc, are the original ones and are 34 years old. I would probably put a nice 350 in it, and keep the original numbers matching motor for posterity and originality. The car is very straight and completely rust free, garaged since new. This is the one you cannot find anywhere. Would like to trade for antique truck or sell for Best Offer. If you have any additional questions you may contact me by email or call 205-222-5543. I have the clear title in hand.On Jan-02-12 at 14:52:52 PST, seller added the following information: Had several ask whether the car could be driven home. No, I would think it needs to be trailered. The engine and everything on it is stock and as it was in 1978, 34 years ago. When it was taken out of storage and serviced, the spark plugs were replaced and they thought the ones removed were the original ones to the car. All rings, lifters, bearings, vacuum hoses, gaskets, etc are 34 years old and were stored for 18 years. It runs good enough to run up and down the road a few miles, but I would not drive it far without at least freshening the stock engine or dropping a crate motor in it.
