Vehicle Detail
1959 Austin Healey Sprite. I purchased the car several months ago as a project but unfortunately a job loss in the household has cut into project $$. I purchased it from a fellow who purchased quite a few new parts over the years. There is a new uninstalled black vinyl top, tonneau cover and rubber seals for the side curtains. There are many new rubber bits for the head/tail ligthts. The are boxes with new brake parts, tune-up bits and new parking brake cable. I installed new tail light assemblies. At some point it looks like a new partial wiring harness was installed. All the accessories seem to work OK. There is a new hood emblem as well as a new Sprite spear included. There is a hard top that also goes with the car. The rear glass is in good condition. The windshield is cracked on the car. Side curtains are also included. The previous owner told me the engine had been rebuilt and run only a few months. He stopped working on the car around fifteen years ago from what I understand. The engine runs nicely with no smoke. There is no noise from the transmissioin. I have only run the car on jack stands and have not driven it. The engine has good oil pressure. Brake and clutch hydraulics need to be sorted out. Although I got a good pedal when I filled and bled the brake system, the wheel cylinders as siezed. I have not attempted to do anything with the clutch hydraulics. Needless to say the car cannot be driven as is. Something to keep in mind for your shipper. The trailer the car was photographed on is NOT available. There appears to be no suspension structural rot. The is some rust in the rear spring attach area but appears to be minimal. I have provided pictures of the body areas that need attention for restoration. There is a small hole in the passenger foot well area. Both A pillars have the typical Sprite rust perforation as do the rear of the wheel arches. The photos also show the inner part of the same area on the arches. The door seams are nice and the doors do not sag. The door shut nicely. The dash has some sort of wood grain applique on it. I'm not sure of the condition under this hideous stuff. Although I cannot make shipping arrangements, I am happy to assist in any way I can with your shipper. The car is located in Layton Utah and has a clear Utah title in my name. I can keep the car at it's present location for up to a month as long as complete payment is made once purchased. Thanks for looking. On Dec-29-11 at 16:00:58 PST, seller added the following information: Someon asked for details on the top so I've added some additional photos for the mounting. Incidentally.... the hardtop is not for sale separately nor are the soft top or tonneau. Although I regretfully need to sell the car, please don't tell me you have a certain amount to offer if I sell it now. I am not desperate. Hate to sound rude, but questions like that are annoying. On Dec-29-11 at 16:02:06 PST, seller added the following information: Someone*
