Vehicle Detail
Hi everybody, Ebay has been cancelling the auction due to me posting the vin wrong. The correct vin, straight from the title, is wp0zzz92zfs841139. I was using just a partial, which is the one on the dash. Sorry for the mix up. Clear title in my hand. So, here we go again! Up for sale with NO RESERVE! is my 1984 Porsche 928S. Yes, I pronounce it porsh,ah. Ive always wanted one of these bad boys, and when this one came through the dealer only auction that we buy at, I had to have it. I have a thing for fast red sports cars, and this one fit right in. The car needs to be restored. It looks to be all original, except for the Kenwood CD player in the dash. All the stickers and tags in the engine compartment and elsewhere are in german. Ive never seen that before, but this is my first 928 so maybe they are all like that. Looks really cool. ACHTUNG! It runs and drives fairly well. Brakes feel good, transmission shifts are firm and on time. A good tune up would definately help it. When driving it, sometimes it acts like it needs to clear its throat, and feathering the gas pedal brings it out of it. Then it takes off like a scalded dog. Just a guess is it might be the throttle position sensor. It can sit for weeks and still starts right up. It doesnt smoke or knock. There are a few spots of oil under the front after sitting, but no major leaks. The tires are so-so. The factory wheels are in good condition, with no dings or curb damage. I was driving it around about a month ago, and it seemed like it was starting to run better, like the fresh gas and injector cleaner was helping. It did not overheat, and had good oil pressure and such, and was really a ball to drive. The next time I took it out, the gauge cluster decided to stop working. Speedo and tach still work. Perhaps a faulty connection? All the lights work, including the very cool pop up headlights. The glass is all good. The door windows go up and down, but they need switch work. The door mirrors are in good condition. The interior needs restored. The leather is dry and starting to split. It has the space saver collapsing spare tire. The factory jack is there in its little storage bag. The tool kit is missing. Owners manuals in english AND german, very cool. The body is in pretty good shape. The doors close well. The hood and hatch need to be propped open. Its been repainted, and they didnt do a very good job. This would make a great restoration project for someone. I just dont have the time right now. It will drive up on a trailer or transport to get it to you. I wouldnt try to drive it home because of the gauges not working. I will bring it to your door for an agreed on fee, or put you in touch with reputable transporters we have used that will be happy to give you a quote. Shipping fees are the buyers resonsibility. The car is being sold as-is where is with no warranty. Clear title in hand. I have tried to describe it honestly and accurately. If you want some extra pics of something, just let me know. Give John a call at 1-435-884-1040 with any ?? or email of course. NO RESERVE! High bidder will own it. If you have 0 feedback, please call me so I know you understand ebay policies and rules. Thanks everyone, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!On Dec-21-11 at 09:45:07 PST, seller added the following information: The car is a 1985 Porsche 928S. Sorry if there was any confusion. On Dec-21-11 at 15:32:32 PST, seller added the following information: Hi everyone, this is a message from another ebay member that was kind enough to help me with porsche info. thanks so much. I read that the MSRP on this car in 1985 was 50,000.00! WOW! I new it felt fast when I drove it. heres the message,,, Hello, I see....after looking at the picture of the engine, I realized that it is a Euro model...which might be why your having trouble with the vin....The car you have there is VERY rare, and VERY sought after especially in the US. It is has the 310 horse power Engine instead of the 238 hp or so in the US models... I will tell you again that is a VERY sought after car...It would be worth your while to end the auction,, only to relist it with a different title or heading, such as "Very rare 1985 Euro with 310 hp" I'm telling you have a very expensive car even in the condition it is in. Again, thanks for your info,,,john On Dec-23-11 at 09:19:57 PST, seller added the following information: Here is another message from an awesome ebay member. Thanks for your time and info! Happy Holidays!! Dear shiftdoc, They are hard to find in the us and Canada but everywhere else in the world this is what you get. some times they are hard to sell because it can be hard to get them registered or to pass the smog test in a growing number of states not because they are not clean running, but because when they see the wpozzz they know its a euro and what is under the hood. you also will not have cats if the exhaust is original but just the parts in that car are worth big bucks. the heads and cams alone are $2500 (if you can find them) the CIS(rare) injection is about $1000 and the manual trans is a G28/10 worth $2500 and even more if it had the LSD (limited slip diff.) which it likely does. Another thing, you put those euro heads and cams on an American 5.0 (288 Hp 85-86) Porsche with your CIS and you get 400 hp just by boosting the fuel pressure ( I have this euro hybrid engine my Porsche and if you drop it in 3rd at 60 mhp and stomp on it you get all kinds of rubber You may want to hold on to this one.
