Vehicle Detail

red   dog motorsports 1972 Porsche 914 Classic go-kart handling with a solid, reliable motor This 914 offers a great opportunity to own a car that handles with the nimble touch of a Miata and looks like nothing else on the road, as well as being developed by one of the worlds most respected manufacturers. Our 914 starts and runs immediately, idles smoothly, and accelerates eagerly and without hesitation. Considering that the car is a 4-cylinder, it pulls very well, and is strong throughout its power range. The ride is well composed, and the car looks great on the street, certain to draw the envy of other small sports car owners. Contrary to the badge on the car, this is actually a 1.7 liter engine with a Bosch D-Jetronic injection system. This injection system is less of a hassle to maintain than the system on the 1.8 that followed in '74. The original shifter has been replaced in favor of the much improved side-shift arrangement available beginning in the '73 model year, making this car even more fun to drive. And with many of the parts on this car interchangeable with parts on the 911, there are still plenty of spares available in the event of trouble. We do not have maintenance records associated with this car, but if this is a concern for you, please contact us so that we may do our best to put you at ease. While the car shows some of the signs of age common to the 914, this car excels as a driver, and it will make an inexpensive acquisition for anyone looking for a great toy. This 914 features the following modifications: Amplifier installed in the front bootInfinity Kappa speakersPearlescent white paint with black rally stripesUpgraded K&N cone air-filterUpgraded side-shift transmission This 914 has received recent maintenance including: Adjusted valves, timing, and idleFresh fuel and oil filtersFresh oil and Swepco 201 transmission fluidNew shifter bushings both front and backNew spark plugs, distributor cap, and rotorNew valve cover gaskets Your Porsche is ready to deliver many problem-free miles of enjoyment and should need no more than an oil change in the next few thousand miles. Don't like the wheels? We have several sets of Fuchs in inventory which we may be able to swap onto this car; let us know what you're looking for. We'll also include the following essentials with your purchase: "Quick" Vic Elford, a winning sports-car and rally driver, tackles all aspects of High-Performance Driving. From seating position and heel-toe shifting to proper cornering technique and even driving on ice, this is a nicely rounded overview from a master of car control. Frequently Asked Questions Where is the car located? We're about 20 minutes equidistant from the center of Philadelphia to the east and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to the southeast. We can arrange to meet your arriving flight at the airport so you can drive off in your Porsche right from baggage claim. Can I drive my 914 home to L.A. from Philly? Yes; unless otherwise indicated above, you can expect this Porsche to pass any state inspection and be fully prepared for cross-country travel. Do you ship internationally? Yes; we can deliver your Porsche to a local port and we can help coordinate overseas transport and customs brokering at the destination. Can I have a PPI performed on this 914? Yes; we can work with local dealerships or inspectors to have a pre-purchase inspection performed on your behalf. The cost for this service is generally $100-200. Can I bid on this Porsche if I have very low feedback? Yes, but we reserve the right to cancel high bids from bidders with very low feedback. Please contact us with your intentions either prior to or immediately after placing your bid to be assured of competing in the auction. Can you perform some additional work on my Porsche before I take delivery? Yes; please contact us with specific requests and we can provide a very competitive estimate. What is your reserve price? In the interest of fairness, we do not share our reserves. Please bid what you are willing to pay, and not a penny more! What is your Buy-It-Now price? If you don't see a Buy-It-Now price attached to this auction, then there is no longer any Buy-It-Now available -- bid to win! We welcome pre-purchase inspections; contact us toll-free at (855) 4-RED-DOG or select to send us a message via eBay. Don't miss this opportunity to own an outstanding Porsche!
