This is a great 1973 VW Thing, the first year sold in the US. The doors are not shown in the photos, but are in great shape (I keep the car at my vacation home on St Simons Island, GA. Why have doors unless you have to?) I do not have windows or the original top, but the bikini top was purchased "after market" and keeps the sun and most rain off when driving. I have driven it all year round this way. I had the car painted red and and new upholstery installed. It is in good shape--I have driven it on the interstate at 70mph--but it is really a city "runabout". It is a real trip to drive on the island and a constant source of comments from all who see it: it's fun to talk with folks old enough to remember them on the road, but more fun to talk with youngsters who are perplexed and intrigued with it. I will answer any questions. Of course, the Thing is sold as is/where is. If the winning bidder decides not to purchase it when coming to pick it up, I will cancel the contract without a question. One thing that I can assure about it: there aren't many around, and none that I've seen in this good of shape. I've just got too many toys and need to turn a few loose. It's time for someone else to enjoy this one.
