Since the only damage was a shot to her tank and handle-bars (see photos on our website), we decided to pick her up as her motor, frame, forks, wheels and drive train were fine. As you can see, the damaged tank and handlebars have been replaced. She now has a rebuilt title as inspected/approved by the Florida DMV – they too loved what we did with her J. Yeah, we know it is not a Honda CB750 SOHC bike but, she is still a Honda CB750 … and just so that you know, the DOHC motor has much better performance than the SOHC motor. Our hope was to uncover this bike’s true heart and soul. She has turned out to be a real head turner and just a total blast to ride – folks love the old school look/sound and they really appreciate the color combination and simple design. In fact, she has already taken a trophy for “Best Bike In Show” (check out our website for more info. and pics). We have received several offers to buy the bike out right; however, we thought it best to put her on ebay to show folks what we are up to at www.barebonerides.com and hopefully create more interest in our builds (designed and targeted for every day folks out there looking for a solid, custom, one-off ride at a reasonable price). She has been rejetted to accommodate the 4 K&N Pod Filters and a Kerker 4 into 1 header (includes the baffle) operating at sea level. All electronics have been carefully/neatly relocated under the seat pan or to the underside of the seat pan. See the below list for the work and the goodies: - custom fitted with a Honda Rebel front fender (smaller & tighter than the huge chrome stock fender) - new paint with several coats of durable Urethane Clear coat (the black portions of the bike are very faint metal flake which photos do not reveal – the sun and light do though) - 2½” mini tachometer and speedometer - new clubman bars with new CNC machined aluminum/rubber grips - rebuild master cylinder with all new parts including plunger/reservoir - new performance nitrogen filled rear shocks - new front fork seals and oil - new heavy duty gold chain - polished engine side covers (for those that have done this before, you know how much work it takes to get that aluminum looking like that!) - custom rear sub-fender to protect motor/electronics/intake from road debris and water - new oil & filter - carbs taken apart and cleaned (ultrasonic bath) with proper jetting, new float bowl gaskets and new accelerator pump diaphragm - front and rear tires have less than 1000 miles (estimated) - front pads are new, rear brake shoes still have roughly 80% left Like most 30+ year old bikes, she is a bit cold blooded – no worries though, she just needs to be warmed-up before you take off and especially before you want to ride her hard! Once warmed-up, she pulls hard and shifts through entire RPM range without issue; however, we have not taken her beyond her red-line. More photos are available on our website and facebook page (noted below). You can listen to the bike run on YouTube (link on our webpage http://www.barebonerides.com/the-bikes.html … just scroll down to this bike) or check out a walk-around video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLH5Sv5UZno. Please understand she was not built to be a show bike, she was created to be an old school, one-off, custom café racer style ride – the perfect bike to blast around town on or head to the local bike night or coffee shop (especially if you want to draw a little attention). We have set what we feel to be a reasonable reserve price. Check out our shop and our perspective on custom rides/builds at www.barebonerides.com ... we encourage you to follow our builds by "Like"ing our facebook page at www.facebook.com/barebonerides ... you can see more photos of this bike on both the website and our facebook page. Please keep in mind this bike is 30 years old and is best suited, in our opinion, for someone that knows bikes and knows how to wrench on them ... unless you have a good mechanic that knows old school bikes. We have gone over the bike thoroughly and she is ready to go … normal maintenance will be required (as is the case for ALL machines, both new and old). We ask that you contact us prior to bidding if you have less than 10 positive feedback scores or a questionable feedback score/rating. We really appreciate your time in checking out this bike - if this is not the bike for you, as always we wish you much luck on your search for that perfect ride ... or keep an eye on our website as our next build just may be that perfect ride for you! PAYMENT: A $500.00 DEPOSIT via Certified Bank Check is due within a couple days of winning the auction (see "Payment" tab for payment terms/requirements) – contact us for mailing address. SHIPPING: THIS AUCTION IS FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY FOR THIS MOTORCYCLE. Please note that the buyer will be responsible for all shipping requirements from our shop in Merritt Island, Florida. We can help get the bike to a shipping company as long as the shipper is within 50 miles of Merritt Island, FL. On Dec-08-11 at 09:39:31 PST, seller added the following information:We just wanted to clarify as a few folks have asked about the mileage on this bike. When we purchased the bike originally at the auction, it did not have the stock speedometer so we were not aware of the actual mileage. It ran great, sounded great and did not smoke. The current mini-speedo indicates just around 500 miles; however, this is obviously not the actual mileage on this ride! Feel free to send any questions - we apologize as we did mean to have this note in the original description.
