Vehicle Detail

1968 Chevelle Malibu Up for auction is a 1968 Chevelle Malibu, 2 door sport coupe. VIN NUMBER 136378K146602. This car is a GREAT example of an unmolested, original survivor. The car has 123,000 original miles on it. The previous owner purchased the car in 1981 when it had 77,000 miles on it. The car has factory air conditioning, 307 engine, and a 2 speed power-glide transmission. The interior is in better than average condition and also is all original. The rear seat was covered with a factory plastic covering and have stayed in good condition. I removed the plastic covering as it had cracked and showed signs of age. The lights, heater, horn, gauges, all work fine and the car drives and runs great although compared to my 2008 Honda, the brakes are a bit soft. The exterior of the car is a 4 out of 10. The car has not been garaged over the years but has been driven everyday. There is a small amount of rust behind the wheels and there is also evidence of small hail dings near the right rear quarter panel. The car has the factory radio installed, however I have not been able to get it to function. It could be a simple fix such as a fuse. The car also has two original hubcaps that are included in the sale. There is also a spare tire in the trunk along with the factory bumper jack. The trunk has the original trunk liner but I did find some surface rust underneath the trunk liner. The car has always had its floor mats in it and the original carpeting under the floor mats is dark blue. The sun has affected the carpet and faded it where the floor mats weren't covering it. The car does NOT smoke and has PLENTY of power. I would not be afraid to drive this car on a 300 mile journey any day. Some minor body work and a new paint job and you would have a beautiful, original car with all matching numbers. I have only owned the car for three weeks as I took it in on trade from one of my tenants who was forced to move into assisted living because of her age. She purchased the car in 1981 with 77,000 miles on it. Since then, she drove it an average of 1500 miles per year. I have the original GM keys and clear Kansas title in hand. Email me with any questions. Don't let this Chevelle get away.
