READ CAREFULLY! Individuals who are local and can come to inspect the car are encouraged to do so. This car needs some work please read my description and ask all questions. Please only place bid if you intend to buy come inspect the car before you bid if possible because the car is your responsibility if you are the high bidder. Up for sale is this 2003 Saturn VUE SUV. This vehcile has the 2.2L 4 cylinder engine that gets about 30+miles to the gallon. The vehcile comes with CD player cruise control power locks, power windows, power mirrors, child proof locks on doors and rear windows, it has a full size spare, Good heat and A/C Brand new Cooper tires all around (all 4). The car is very clean cosmetically, has no major damage anywhere on the body no dents, its rust free (undercarriage is exceptionally clean no rust) the interior is clean and free of stains, it is just dirty and is in need of a good thorough detail (shampoo and wash) This vehicle is 1 owner and has been well maintained up until a few months ago when the issues began. The engine is strong, it has no check engine has no warning lights it runs and drives very well aside from the transmission. I am selling this car on behalf of the owner who decided not to invest in the repairs at the time and decided to sell. The owner states that the vehicle started making noise randomly from under the hood. The car was then towed to a shop. The tow truck driver pressed the flasher button too hard and it has popped into the dash (notice missing button above the radio) I have a new flasher button. According to our mechanic this Saturn is in need of a torque converter OR differential of some sort. The transmission makes noise when the car is running and in park OR neutral ONLY. When engaged into Drive "D" noise goes away and gear engages. When placed in Reverse "R" the noise will also go away. Upon acceleration the vehicle moves and drives. After the car has warmed up, the transmission starts to slip in between gears. I drove this car 50 miles last weekend and did not have any issues in "2" or at high speeds. From a stop the car lags when accelerating engine revs and moves slowly. IN CONCLUSION The car needs something that is transmission related (was told torque converter). Even though this car lot drives and can be driven I am going to assume that it needs a transmission. PLEASE please a bid KNOWING that car May need a transmission. That is worst case scenario. As far as suspension I was also told perhaps a ball joint might be bad or loose. I had a mechanic diagnose this car and check it over from bumper to bumper. Everything is fully functional it is a very nice clean car once fixed and detailed! Call me (845) 987 9267 and ask me all questions or come and see yourself!!!! This car retails at over 6K when fixed, I have located a transmission with a warranty for $800.00 in Manhattan.
