Vehicle Detail
1979 Volkswagon Karman Super Beetle - 11,850 Original Miles - Three Owners Since New! This car was originally owned by a couple out of West Texas, it was then sold to an attorney / collector I purchased the car from him and have owned it aroung 12 years. Now to the car's story. This beetle has spent it's entire life in a dry climate west texas, it has been garaged it's entire life, there is no rust to be found anywhere, zero, nada, you get the picture no rust! The body is perfect no bondo, not a ding, scratch or mat to contend with. Around 10 years ago the car had a 15-30 second fire I put it out myself with the fire ext. The damage was cosmetic all shown in pictures. The fire was the result of a saftey inspectore not properly securing the gas line again it was about 15- 30 seconds. The car today: Perfect Body no dings, scratches, or marks anywhere, no bondo car has never been in any type of accident. Front and Rear bumpers perfect great chrome. Tires new wheels stock. All lights work no issues. All glass windshiels, windows original german glass, no cracks no marks. Steering is tight no play drives beautifully Dash no cracks and none staring perfect. Original Blaupunket radio works great. Clock works perfect. All seat belts in proper working order. Alll original carpet. New Battery. New wheel cylinders and brakes. Motor perfect, converted to carb new much more reliable than fuel injection. Clutch and tranny perfect shifts like butter no issues. Front seats are the original horsehair and need to be re-done very inexpensive to do. Back seat is fine. Original bug mats. Perfect interior door panels. All rubber on windows should be re-done it's old and losing it's pliability very inexpensive to fix after all it's a VW. Top - this suffered the most damage look at the pictures and you can see it, the top is totally driveable and the spot you see is the only damage it didn't bother me so I just left it alone people have said I could have it re-dyed I have never tried it. The right wing window needs a new latch. I have tried to describe this car as honestly and truthful as I can I'm an honest guy and I believe in truth and transparencey. This is one of the cleanest 1979 bugs around the 11,850 miles are true and outside of some very small and inexpensive little issues rubber around windows etc. it needs nothing. I would not hesitate to drive this car across country it is mechanically perfect! and will not let you down. On Nov-23-11 at 11:28:37 PST, seller added the following information: In the interest of complete honesty and transparency I accidentally left out two things you may want to fix I have never bothered first the hand brake works perfect all brakes are new pads, wheel cylinders etc that being said the parking brake light on the dash flickers on and off also the oil light will sometimes stay on likely the result is an inexpensive sending unit, the motor burns no oil and only drops a single small drip about every two weeks amazing for a Volkswagon. Again motor is perfect I would not hesitate to drive cross country in this car.
