BEAUTIFUL BLACK 300E- MOST ARE A UGLY COLOR! I am relisting this car because the person who won the previous auction was a fraud! Thus, do not bid unless you have a history. As I say below you can call me with any questions you may have and I will be completly honest with you. For Sale is my personal driver for about 5 years and 100,000 miles. It has always been adult driven and well taken care of. It has a wonderful history. Back before I bought it I believe the owner hit a deer and he redid the entire car with a wonderful flawless black paint job. So when I got it, it looked like brand new. It was just stunning. With tinted windows and not a scratch or dent and the interior about a 9.5 I loved it. Being in my 40s I took special care of it. We only have had BMW, Mercedes and Land Rovers. I also teach classes, and people how to drive for the least amount of cost possible. This car my 300e was the benchmark and is known as one of the most durable cars ever made. They do go forever if well taken care of. And are a tank that serves both the young driver keeping them safe, and the thrifty since parts are so inexpensive and the cars are so durable and well made. For example brake pads are under $20.00, Alternator under $100, headlights under $100. Check here on ebay. Liablilty insurance is $15 a month and taxes and Lic. under $50 a year. Most people pay a couple thousand when they get a new car and then the same on sales tax and the rest. Now when you figure in depriciation and if you get to write-off the miles on taxes...this is a steal. And with the economy used cars are becoming scarce and the values going up. Ok lets get bake to my specific car. What is all good about it? In the past 10,000 miles- New Shocks- replaced the waterpump, alternator, A/C compressor, Sepentine Belt, Remove and clean the radiator, and replace needed hoses. Water Pump, head, timing chain, battery, upper gaskets, cam shaft and the gears and all the guts of the top end. All and all roughly $2000.00 worth of work. Around 200K is when you need to replace the headgasket and do upper work..which has been done for you. Along with the A/C water pump, etc...your good to go. The car has a CD player as well. The interior is about a 9 now and the exterior has a few hail dents(6-7) a couple of scratches but looks incredible a few feet away. I would drive it across the USA. It comes with a spare A/C compressor, rear tailights and I believe some other pieces. What is bad? Well it has a couple chips in the windshield which for the years I have had it have never cracked out. Needs tires and I have not charged the A/C after the compressor was put on, it is working properly though. Couple minor blemishes inside and the antenna wont go down. But...the big reason I am gettign rid of it is...the transmission needs service. Possibly just a change in fluid, as sometimes Reverse slips, but still works. The worse case senario is eventually have the transmission swapped with a used unit (one is on ebay for $300). That is the worst it could possibly be. You could easily drive it home and service the car yourself however you wish. Why would I do that after all this work? Well I write off about $2000.00 annually because of the miles I put on it. So I am fine with just doing the servie work. Second is....I have driven this car a lot and a few years. If I put a transmission in it....I will make myself drive it a few more....I don't want to. I can start it all over and get something different to drive. I have driven it for basically free so here you go. It's not perfect, but your not going to have any big suprises. The motor checked out great and since I have had all the major work...I have been driving it daily. After you replace the transmission with a used one or service one yourself the big bangs are all out of this car! Sure its got its miles and dont think its perfect. I just think you got a heck of a deal and a car that is cheap to drive and will last a long time. If you buy a car from a dealer-new or used...when you drive it off the lot...you have thrown away more than you will have in this car. You can buy a car from a dealer and not know what you have. Or you can get this one, fix the transmission and have a great car for a lot of years and for such a little cost. By the way it the first pictures show different center caps they are now AMG. There are also AMG emblems on the fenders and the rear trunk, they are not on the first pictures because the car was being detailed and they needed to be reapplied to make sure they are all on good, I guess expensive. If you want you can call me 402.610.4515. I can tell you more if you need to listen to me ramble more. If you review the History I saw on there some odometer checks. No idea what they would be it was many years ago and about 150K. At 200k I don't see how that matters and over 100K in Nebraska is exempt. Remember the TRANSMISSION WORKS NOW! I AM BEING HONEST AND VERY PRECAUCIOUS! I AM GIVING YOU THE WORST CASE SENARIO ON MAINT. THERE ARE NO BIG BILLS WAITING AND NO SUPRISES AND NO BLACK 300E AROUND THAT LOOKS LIKE THIS! On Oct-27-11 at 16:13:04 PDT, seller added the following information: NO BIDDERS WITHOUT ANY PURCHASE HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU WILL BE REMOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On Nov-01-11 at 06:22:52 PDT, seller added the following information: BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SALVAGE YARDS WILL PAY $500 FOR THE CAR. SO IF YOU PAY $1500 FOR THE CAR WHEN YOU ARE DONE WITH IT AT THE GOING PRICES YOU WILL GET A (REBATE OF $500) FROM THEM PAYING ONLY OUT OF POCKET $1000.00 FOR THIS CAR. THATS PRETTY MUCH NOTHNG FOR THIS CAR AND IF YOU LOOK AT CRAIGSLIST YOU KNOW THERE IS BASICALLY WORTHLESS JUNK FOR SALE UNDER $2500. On Nov-24-11 at 06:58:09 PST, seller added the following information: As a clarification on my statement in regards to the transmission. Currently, and as I drive the car almost daily there is no problem of any kind with the transmission. As viewed by a mech there is not a problem either. This is what I was trying to describe....When shifting pushing and pulling the shiftlever was harder than our other Mercedes(going from Park to drive to reverse and so on). I was not using the car for awhile and the"linkage" got rusty? From lack of use. When I started driving it again "reverse" would feel like it was not going into the gear all the time when shifting from the other gears. Actually at first a few times it did not. Then from use it appears to be operating, and working well. Also shifting thru the gears is easier. Meaning when it was hard based on 1-10 it was a 6, and now its a 3 or 2 with 1 being perfect effort in shifting compared to my newer mercedes. In researching the possibilities the most expensive thing left on the car that I am not 100% sure about IS the Transmission which I have described in detail the worst possibly senario and bill. At this time you can drive it anywhere and everythign is fine, except the tires, basically the 2 front and its getting to be winter....and yes I still drive with them anyway! I hope this would clear up and explain anything on the car. ALso when stating the head repair...it was replacing the head gasket, all the upper gaskets such as the cam cover, timing cover gaskets all of those. Also the camshaft and the internal guts associated. This was a major job as you know but, nothign was broke just worn and as it was apart and being checked out along with the engine it was very cost effective to have all the work done. Knowing the cars as I do and what you get for your money if you paid $2000.00 for this car you woudl still be so far ahead. Look at what you get for that normally. A rusted out car that is not even close to fully operational, a bomb that your waiting to stressfully to go off and wondering ho wmuch it will set you back. There are numerous things at the time of purchase to fix. There are things so expsnsive that you just wont fix them and just live with them. You have to put hundreds and even thousands into the car to get it up to a daily driver. It wont be worth anything after you drive it 6months to a year. It wont last any significant time. It is ugly and you dont want to be seen in it. It is classless and a eye sore. I hope that makes my point...you cant buy anything that looks as classy and nice as this, is in this good fo condition without suprises.
