This 1994 Honda Del Sol SI is in very good mechanical shape for a 17 year old car with 138,000 miles on it. This is probably one of the most unique 2 seater vehicles ever to drive the American road; sure there are tons of others, but Honda had a winner in this car. ( 40 plus mpg )The roof is removable and stores in the trunk, and the rear window rolls down. Roll down the other windows and you have a great sporty ride without the noise, buffeting and rotting associated with a convertible. PLUS – you get the dependability of a Honda, and the super gas mileage (40 plus mpg) of a Civic. A Civic will cost you less to insure as well ! I replaced the radiator, belts, water pump,and timing belt. In the last 25,000 miles. The car sounds and runs great, quite and smooth like a Honda. This car can be a daily driver. I hate to part with it, as I had it as a collector car and my insurance is $100.00 bucks a year! However, I purchase my dream car a 55 chev2dr hard top and I need the room. I have a clear title, so the winning bidder drives off as the new owner............ NO RESERVE .............Let me tell you a little about this desirable little gem: I will begin with the positive… this car runs like you would expect a Honda to run; very strong engine, tight suspension and very sporty to drive. Mechanically, everything is very sound – clutch, transmission, tires, suspension, are all in top form. This is an SI so the suspension and all is alittle smoother and you get the V-tec engine with four disk brakes. Del Sols are awesome. that is why you do not see them for sale that much especially in the midwest. People just keep them. You do see them on the road though. Now for the not so positive: the biggest item is the air conditioning.... IT DOES NOT WORK. All the pieces are there you just need to know it stopped working. However, due to cold weather approaching, I am not going to replace it. Also you can take the top off in the summer. The second thing is the passenger door latch just came unsnapped on the inside basically does not work. Minor to fix, yet annoying. The drives side door does not lock from inside. This is a simple fix, but since there have been no passengers in it, I haven’t bothered to fool with it, and it still opens from the inside. The car has hail damage over the entire car. (the paint is just four years old so it looks good) It was never turned to insurance but it is there. The rest is minor cosmetic stuff – a front left turning signal lens missing, (see photo), one of the fog lights is cracked, a scraping and minor denting on the drive side door , a scratch on hood and trunk (see pics), a cut in drives seat where wallet goes (easy fix with seat cover ) typical for Del Sol around that year and a small little rust spot on a wheel well, and only one screw to hold license tag on. I believe that is every little thing. The paint job was recient(last four years) and looks good. Other than that, this car is really nice. It has a modern stereo with CD, overall Basically OK, and is a real blast to drive. This car runs down the highway very quickly and handles beautifully. Super fun! I know that these Del Sols are sought after cars, and you will see why if you win this one!........... Drives just like a dart, with 4 disk brakes. In light of my need for space, and my desire to get it off my driveway, I have set no reserve. Someone will really enjoy this car.
