Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1996 Ford Crown Vic CNG. The vehicle does not run and is not worth it for me to put any kind of significant money into repairing it. The vehicle had a coolant leak somewhere inside the firewall (likely the heater core) which caused coolant vapor to come through the air vents when the car was running and warm. The battery has also been removed. Other than that the car is otherwise intact in that none of the other parts have been removed from it including the CNG fuel system which consists of 4 CNG tanks, regulator(s), lines, ECU and the CNG injectors. These parts likely have some value in and of themselves to whoever is willing to remove the parts from the vehicle. As mentioned, the battery has been disconnected and this car absolutely will not run so please be prepared to have a tow truck available sometime within 7 days of the close of the auction. Also please do not think you will show up in my driveway prepared to work on this vehicle (this might sound crazy but it has happened to me in the past) The vehicle's registration expired in June so it would not be legal to drive away even if it were to start. Please take all of the above in consideration before bidding on this vehicle. This is a true NO RESERVE auction. Now, a brief description of the vehicle's condition: It is a 1996 model with nearly 200k on it so naturally this car has it's flaws. The big ones are a large cut in the hood, a 6" crack in the front windshield, and a broken right signal lens. Except for the hood the body is in good shape. A plus is that the front tires have a good amount of tread in them, good for probably at least 15k-20k. The back ones are completely bald and need to go. There are also California Solo Carpool stickers on the vehicle for whatever that might be worth. Lastly, something else to take into consideration is there is still some CNG fuel in the tanks. The tanks had a max pressure of 3000 psi and it currently is about 1/4 full which makes the pressure remaining approximately 750 psi. Proper fuel relieving procedures will need to be followed in order to ensure the safe disconnection of the tanks and fuel system. I've tried to cover just about everything here so if I've missed something of particular interest please email me and I'll answer any other questions. Please remember a $200 deposit is due within 3 days of auctions close and the remaining balance will be due within 7 days of auction's close (or at pickup whatever comes first) and you will arrange a pick up with me within 7 days of the auction's close. Please no personal checks. Payment to be made in cash, money order or certified check only. Thanks
