1969 Volvo 164. This is an original car, NOT a restoration. Mileage is ORIGINAL. California car from new, two owners. Both original Black plates are mint. The first owner drove the car ten years and sold it in 1980 to the second owner with 17,000 miles. Second owner had it 30 years and drove it another 30,000 miles. It was garaged by both owners and the second owner kept it covered as well. Second owner was a member of the Volvo Club of America. He made a few modifications to improve the drivability of this car he loved. The care he put into this car is evident everywhere you look. The car has it original B30 engine. It was originally an Automatic. he chose to replace the transmission to an M41 4 speed with overdrive (these cars came from the factory with the bracketry to install the clutch pedal so no mods were needed. This was done approx 10k miles ago/ ten years. A new clutch was installed at that time as well. It has a high compression head. Also an Isky Cam was installed as well as SU carbs and electronic ignition. As well as a thermostat controlled radiator electric fan. Also the steering wheel was changed to a later leather (larger, "more comfortable") wheel. Another nice addition is cruise control that works nicely. The trans shifts perfectly and overdrive is functioning and a nice addition. The Model 164 came from the factory with 4 wheel power disc brakes. Brakes on the car are excellent, with no pull. Firm and solid stopping. Power steering too... All glass is excellent! The car starts right up, idles smooth and runs out very, very strong. Even though it is a 42 year old car it will impress in how it runs, drives and handles, even in todays world. EVERYTHING works, all lights , guages, heat, horn etc.. The body is mint, original paint. No signs of repair ever. Not one spec of rust anywhere, PERIOD. See photos of the trunk, its amazing. A time warp car, no exageration. Come see for yourself, anytime. At one point long ago someone got aggressive with a polisher. There are a couple wear spots on the sharp edges and the worst spot is on top of drivers fender. See photos. I mentioned it has always been stored indoors. The good news is the rubber, seals light lenses etc are all mint. Rubber is soft and not cracking, lenses are bright and crisp. Detailed photos will show this. Interior was optioned with Leather. Back seat is still nice and soft showing little wear. Front seat backs are good but bottoms are dried and passenger is ripped. They have nice sheepskins now. Dash is cracked in center. Otherwise interior is as nice as the rest of the car. Headliner is great, gauges nice and clear. Pictures will speak to the overall condition as well. Door jams, sills etc are super clean. Original wheels and hubcaps with matching Cooper Tires at about 80%, but 10 years old (no signs of cracking). Spare is usable. Also there is an extra set of 1974 Volvo wheels and hubcaps with good rubber (also Cooper). I have the original Owners manual as well as a 1973 Original Volvo 164 service Manual.
