Up for bid is one 1974 VW Beetle Sunbug. It has 74,000 on the odometer (don't know if it has ever been swaped out).I have been using it as a daily driver for the past year, and it has done well, traveling about 30 miles a day or more. The reason I'm selling is it has started needing more than I can give it. I live in apartments and can't work on it and I have had to use it daily ,so I can't just park it and fix it. I have enjoyed the car and wish I could keep it. The Lowdown: 1. The motor leaks oil. It doesn't smoke or burn oil, it just leaks about 1qt every two weeks or so. 2. The trans has a learning curve. Takes time to learn where the gears are.Shifts fine once learned. 3. Body damage on RH rear and rear apron, Bad paint job too. (Dosn't look like they sanded the old paint) 4. RH Rear wheel cyl leaking. This is what has stopped me, I have a wheel cyl, just not the time to do it. 5. Floor pans have been patched at driver and pass floorboards. 6. Rust spots here and there. 7. Sun roof leaks sometimes. 8. Steering has slack in it. 9. Front seats are out of a 70's mopar i think. 10. Drivers window goes 3/4 up and then needs pulled up by hand. 11. New brake master cyl 12. Wipers work on low 13. Blinkers and taillights work. 14. Has Dynamat inside on floor. 15. Progressive webber carb and intake 16. Can drive down the interstate at 65-70 mph. 17. Herod helper wing and Talbot mirror. 18. Turns heads everywhere 19. Battery wired straight to coil and the starters on a push button.I have a new cyl lock/key and ignition switch, just not installed. 20. Sale includes working spare transmission, a few boxes of stuff (like remote oil cooler w/ elec fan),and spare parts,etc. 21. Flipout screen radio! (CD and DVD doesn't work) I'm sure I've missed something and I've tried to catch all the big things. It is a driver, you got to be a special kind tho. Turn it into a volksrod, baja, or racer.
