THE NEW ENGLAND CLASSIC CAR COMPANY 1483 Stratford Avenue Stratford, Connecticut 06615 USA Phone: (203) 377-6746 Fax: (203) 377-4003 neclassics@aol.com Triumph TR3A, 1959 A beautiful, rare, rust free example with factory overdrive and wire wheels! We found the car, mostly restored, and did the finishing work in our workshop. Strong engine with excellent compression, perfect oil pressure, no smoke…..smooth and in perfect running order (now that the ignition and carbs have been gone over). 4 speed transmission with overdrive on the top three gears giving an overall selection of seven ratios. Quite amusing and wonderful on the highway. Brakes: all new….new master cylinder, new metal and flex lines, rebuilt calipers, new wheel cylinders, new pads and shoes. Steering is very good with an unusually good steering box (just adjusted) and new idler arm just installed, tracks nicely and has better than average ‘feel.’ Interior is fairly new….carpets, interior panels, and seats……dash is very good, all original, and with all original gauges. New top and boot cover, new seat belts installed, new bumpers, grille, windshield side mounts appear to have been rechromed, has a new exhaust system, original style air cleaners, wiring harness appears to be fairly new and is in excellent condition………what else is there? Top to bottom, inside and out this is a gorgeous TR3A. Photos don’t do the paint any justice as the true color is a beautiful deep blue….it has been professionally wet sanded, hand buffed, waxed and is of sufficient quality for anything but a top national show. Even then, hardly an embarrassment. These photos best show the real color of the car's paint. ON the road, it really goes….with its 100hp engine, plenty of torque, and a quoted top speed of 110mph, one can really have fun driving this classic sports car. Disc brakes work well and in overdrive, it is smooth and remarkably subdued at 60, 70, 80 and more mph. I suppose there are better TR3s out and about in the world but not that much better And overdrive and wire wheels really makes this car stand out in the crowd. And if ‘jazzing up’ this car is appealing, we can take the entire black interior in part trade towards a new tan leather interior, trade the painted wire wheels for new chrome wire wheels, and……..well, use your imagination. All of this really doesn’t cost all that much and would take this car to the next higher aesthetic level. We can offer transport to any place in the world, can store the car free of charge until the new owner is ready to take delivery, even add additional options should they be requested. We have been in business for 37 years and do our best to examine, rectify problems and accurately describe the classic cars we have for sale. IF there is anything wrong ANYWHERE on this car, we didn’t see it and can’t find it. Consider this….new floors, magnet stick all around the body, paint and chrome are lovely, we can see all of the new brake work, went over the steering, carbs, front end, checked the compression, can see the fairly new wiring……..what other mysteries are left to uncover? ABSOLUTELY no rust underneath.......new factory floors, perfect chassis and sills, rust free rockers, awesome!
