Up for auction is a 1983 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency Brougham Diesel. It has 63,800 original miles on it. I bought it at the beginning of this year as a fun car because it was diesel. The head gaskets were blown when I bought it, so recently the following was done. Headgaskets replaced, heads were rebuilt by professionals and resurfaced New water pump and all new hoses and belts. New antifreeze overflow tank, NOS New exterior emblems, NOS New Fuel pump and fuel filter New drivers side engine mount. The car starts and drives real good. The suspension is tight and there are no rattles or noises going over bumps. The engine does have a slight miss, but I think it is a sticky injector. It is still getting 23 mpg. I havent ran any cleaners through the fuel or anything. The bad things are, the heater core needs replaced. It is around 30 dollars at a local part store and takes about 20 minutes to install, so right now the heat doesnt work. The ac compressor is good, but it needs the lines replaced from the compressor to the condenser coil. It does leak a little oil, but replaceing the valve cover filters may fix that. The drivers side armrest has some cracks and the chrome part of the window switch on the drivers door is missing, but the switch still works. It has the normal power windows and locks and cruise control. They all work good. It also has the rare Astroroof that works as well as the limited slip rear differential. It has illuminated entry and automatic locks that lock in drive and unlock in park. It also has the option where it unlocks all the doors when you unlock the drivers door with the key. It has the normal dings here and there from being a everyday driver back in the day. There is no rust. Anything else just ask. The original owner told me the miles were original and it has not rolled over, judging from wear on the steering wheel and interior parts I would have to agree, but I dont know for a fact. Im only selling this because of my wifes kidney Dialysis otherwise i would keep it. It sure turns heads when people see and hear its a diesel. Thanks for looking.
