1974 FJ40 Landcruiser 4x4 for auction. Runs great (see video of me starting and idling car below...sorry im not a great videographer), has soft top, bikini top, hard and soft doors, custom 4 inch lift and original engine. Mileage is unknown (odometer does not work) but engine has recently been rebuilt from the block up (freshly machined head, complete valve job, new seals throughout, new rocker arm/rockers, etc.). Additionally, it has a new radiator, suspension, exhaust, and tires. Brakes are relatively new as well as stainless steel brake-lines. I purchased the soft-top a few years ago and no longer have the hard top. The truck has a full, custom roll-cage covering the front and rear of the vehicle. I also have several other new parts/pieces for the truck, including: side mirrors, emblems, turn signal lamps, tire rack, and other miscellaneous items. It has the original 4-speed manual transmission. Toyota switched to the 4-speed transmission for the 1974 model year. The clutch is in good condition, not soft or slippery. It has drum brakes all around that work relatively well considering they are drum brakes. Also, please note that the parking brake does not work. Over the past 12 years I have owned 3 FJ40 landcruisers and have never had one with a working parking brake. Unfortunately the parking brake is poorly designed. It is a very small brake and it is on the rear drive-shaft as opposed to being incorporated into the rear drum brakes. This design causes the brake to wear at a very high rate and so I just leave the truck in gear when I park it. I am auctioning the cruiser because I got married in September, just moved into a new house and no longer have room for my toy so it has to go. Please call Stephen 864-710-5709 with any questions.
