Vehicle Detail
For Sale – 2008 BMW R1200 HP2 Megamoto – Lowered Suspension I purchased this bike new from a BMW dealer in eastern PA. This bike currently has 5,076 miles on it. It has been serviced by the dealer as per warranty requirements. In examining the bike, BMW has spared no expense with its hand-built trellis frame chassis, fully adjustable Öhlins rear suspension, and fully adjustable Marzocchi front forks. It’s great to have a sport bike with a practical upright riding position and a no nonsense fully enclosed shaft drive – no chain drive and its required maintenance. Has a wonderful braking system with oversized disc brakes, with hydraulically actuated brake and clutch systems. The bike runs perfectly and everything works. It has never been driven in the rain or waxed. The photos are indicative of its super clean, well taken care of condition. This is my 15th BMW in my 55 years of riding, and it’s probably the best one I’ve ever owned. It handles unlike any other BMW twin that I’ve owned. It is light, nimble, and does not have the characteristic BMW opposed-twin gyro feel. With the lightened fly wheel and minimal counter-balancing, on-spot fuel injection, the engine revs very quickly and has a very impressive mid-range punch. As you can see from one of the photos of me sitting on the bike, the suspension was lowered to factory specifications by my dealer. I have a 30 inch leg inseam and sit flat footed on the bike with a little bend in the knee. The bike can easily be readjusted back to its original seat height to accommodate a taller rider. There were no handling differences with the seat height adjustment. Easy riding with two-up, and a lot of fun on the twisties. Although the original tires shown are indicative of my easy riding, they still have serviceable tread life. Although, I would suggest replacing them because of their age. Condition: A small nick about 3/16 of an inch long on the inside of the rear wheel rim, probably from a kicked-up stone. There is a small scratch and blemish on the left valve cover, also probably from a kicked-up stone. (Both too small to photograph.) Included in the sale are a substantial rear support stand ($) and the BMW optional rear passenger foot peg assembly (about $300, installed by dealer). Please ask questions. On-site inspection is available for established eBay buyers. You will not be disappointed. I will assist in loading the bike with shipper as necessary. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. All sales are final with no warranty and no returns. Terms: $500 deposit within 48 hours of close of auction. Balance due within 7 days. All funds must be cleared before the bike leaves my property. 2008 Specifications Engine: Engine Type Flat Twin Cylinders 2 Engine Stroke 4-Stroke Cooling Air / Oil Valves 8 Valves Per Cylinder 4 Valve Configuration OHV Compression Ratio 12.0:1 Starter Electric Fuel Requirements Premium Fuel Type Gas Transmission: Transmission Type Manual Number Of Speeds 6 Primary Drive (Rear Wheel) Shaft Wheels & Tires: Front Tire (Full Spec) 120/70 ZR17 Rear Tire (Full Spec) 180/55 ZR17 Brakes: Front Brake Type Dual Hydraulic Disc Rear Brake Type Hydraulic Disc Technical Specifications: Wheelbase (in/mm) 63.6 / 1615.4 Fuel Capacity (gal/l) 3.4 / 12.9
