Vehicle Detail

We've owned this Jeep since 1995 (16 years). We purchased it from the original owner here in the San Franciso Bay Area. It's been fun, and has served our family well all these years. But, with the kids growing up and off to college, it no longer meets our needs. It was originally a 1/2 cab convertible pickup. We converted it to a 6 passenger family fourwheeler, extended the rollbar, and added the auxilliary lights. We also gave it a 2 1/2" lift by replacing the leaf springs. It has anti-sway bar disconnects, one-piece rear axles, and a limited slip differential. The axle ratio is 2.73:1 (does very well off-road, though, axle ratio is a bit high). It is a daily driver, in good condition (considering it's age). Other than the modifications noted, we tried to keep it as original as possible. There is no body tub rust (some slight surface rust, and some rust spots in the windshield frame...see picture). It runs great, and just passed smog easily. We have done all of our own service, with the exception of the motor rebuild (full professional rebuild @118K mi). I like to do all my own service. It allows me to truly know the vehicle, and see things I might not otherwise notice. List of major service: 1. Rebuilt motor and clutch at 118K mi. 2. New exhaust, muffler, and cat. converter @ 123K mi. 3. Transmission rebuild and new clutch @ 167K mi. Rebuilt carburator @ 173K mi. 4. And, numerous other repairs such as a couple of radiators, hose changes, brake jobs, turn signal switch, speedometer cable, etc. List of features: 1. Full cab soft top (Kayline). 2. Bikini top. 3. Fold down windshield. 4. Custom extended rollbar (back section is rollbar out of a wrecked Scrambler). 5. Passenger grab bars (out of wrecked CJ's). 6. Stainless steel bed tiedowns. 7. Auxilliaru lights. 8. Antisway bar disconnects. 9. Rocker skids. 10. BFG 31x10.5 tires with chrome rims. 11. Manual transmission (5 speed). 12. Six cylinder (258cuin). List of anoyances: 1. there is no radio (didn't come with one..never got around to installing a radio). 2. Some rust in the windshield frame (see picture). 3. Two fender dings (front and rear driver side...see pictures). 4. Driverside front seat frame is tweeked (been repaired...safe, but annoying). This Jeep is incredibly fun to drive, especially with the top down. And, it's a great way to enjoy the trails, or just warm summer evening drives to get Slurpies with the kids. On Oct-29-11 at 17:06:10 PDT, seller added the following information: 10/29/11 @5pm...I forgot to mention a couple of things: 1. It has tilt steering wheel. 2. It does not have power brakes (is relatively easy to add power booster if desired...worked OK for us.). 3. The passenger side rear auxilliary light (mounted to roll bar) does not work (Don'y know is burned out or is electrical connector loose). On Oct-31-11 at 18:25:08 PDT, seller added the following information: 10/31/11 @6pm...I added more pictures. I've had requests for pictures of the underbody. The rocker skids have surface rust, as you can see. The underbody, wheel wells, and frame are good, with minimal surface rust. Also, putting the top on, I noticed a few flaws (stitching is starting to go, small hole starting, zipper issue, and plastic window haze, etc.). It's safe to assume that this is the last winter for this top. I keep the sides rolled up, or the top completely off most of the year. That's the most fun. I provided a picture of the driver seal. You can see the blue apholstery under the seat cover. The current low back seats are not original (wrecking yard seats). The original seats were high back. Remember, this is a nearly 30 year old Jeep, that's been around the block a few times. The condition is consistent with it's age and miles. By far, the best way to know if this is the Jeep for you is to view in person. On Nov-01-11 at 18:04:34 PDT, seller added the following information: 11/01/11@ 6pm...Attached a picture of the engine rebuild receipt. Some details: 1. Work done at Elby's Automotive Machine Shop, in Dublin, CA. 2. Total = $3,677.09. 3. Complete rebuild, bore & hone cylinders, new pistons, rings, grind crank, valve job, etc.On Nov-02-11 at 18:13:36 PDT, seller added the following information: 11/02/11 @6:10pm...For those of you that live in California, I have the Smog Check Vehicle Inspection Report from last week (10/19/11). As I mentioned, it passed.
