'82 Benz 240D 2.4l Diesel, runs great, nice and clean. Will be due for a valve adjustment in a few months. New battery and motor mounts. 4-speed manual transmission shifts smooth. Dark red, 4-door, crank windows, sunroof is seized shut but does not leak. Black aluminum 15" BBS wheels, OK rubber, new power steering pump and belt. A/C has been removed, heater is nice and toasty - 190 degree thermostat and new water pump. Manual glow plug kit from MercedesSource.com so it starts really well even in cold weather. Minimal rust and gets roughly 28MPG. The odometer stopped working last year at 245k when I changed the clutch slave cylinder. I think the cable just needs to be repositioned. Headliner has been removed above passenger seat. Ignition was removed when the car was re-keyed. The previous owner cut away part of the dash to remove it, so it's a little ugly, but still functions adequately. I'll be sad to see it go. I've owned other old Benzos and this THE MODEL I've been wanting, but due to finances I need to sell it. I also have a set of 4 wire spoke rims and 3 of the original steel rims that go with it. A 4th rim wont be hard to find if you really want. I'll also throw in a few special tools I've collected over the years. This is a good car for the experienced motorist. Note: I think one of the rear axles may need to be replaced soon. This car is ready for BioDiesel or to be converted to run WVO. The Old World Benz (pre-computer control) is known for durability. The world record for most miles is held by a 240D. Parts tend to be more expensive, but obviously last a very long time.
