Vehicle Detail
First year Mercury Cougar. This is a great classic car and just needs a hobbyist to care for it. I bought this car eight years ago intending to enter the classic car restoration and car show hobby. Eight years later I've done very little and it's clear my interests have moved on. Time to relinquish this dream to someone who wants to pursue it more passionately. Mechanical: engine starts and runs great! I have driven this car and it handles fine. All mechanical aspects are in good condition. Automatic transmission, tilt-away steering wheel, sequential turn signals. All work. The hideaway headlamps work, and open fine. On closing, the lids need a little hand assist but once started close the rest of the way by themselves. (I suspect a vacuum line leak.) The exterior front left turn signal does not work. (I suspect the ground line needs replaced.) Body: nearly perfect. All parts intact. Very slight rust and a few signs of previous body work. For an enthusiast, could be put into mint condition for car shows, etc. with just a little work. Car was originally "limefrost green" which is making a major popularity comeback, but it has been repainted to this lime-green color shown. Interior: this is where some work is needed. The interior is completely intact (seats, headliner, carpeting). It's very clean. The rear window deck needs replaced; the trunk is nearly bare and needs re-carpeted. There is no radio. History: I bought this car on e-Bay Motors. Seller claims to have been original owner, and states mileage is original. I cannot document either of these claims. The car has been kept indoors nearly all the time. I do not drive it all in winter.
