The owner wanted the look of the F250 Crewcab but not the stiff ride. He started with a 1978 F-150 extended cab frame had it boxed and fishplated. The truck was a full frame off build eight years ago with the front and rear axels rebuilt. New suspension, coil springs, leaf springs and braking systems. The transmission and transfer case were also rebuilt. New radiator, u-joints and drive lines. The tuck has loged 30000 miles since the build but the 351w was just rebuilt and has only 3000 miles! This was a complete rebuild, new rings, bearings, rv cam, the heads were completly gone through. This truck runs and drives very nice although I did notice the steering box does have quite a bit of play. Maybe just needs an adjustment? The brakes work great and do not pull. I did notice the parking brake was not working. The 4 wheel drive works great and goes into gear easily. The body is solid with no signs of rot. The paint is shiney but does show some wear and tear after all it is a truck. It still gets plenty of attention driving down the road. The interior is nice. The door panels are in good shape as well as the dash pad. The Crewcab has been fitted with modern day seats with lumbar support and seat belts for six. The rear seats will also recline a little ways. All the gauges work and it even has a 38 gallon gas tank! The AM/FM cd player with pioneer speakers sounds great! This was an original AC truck all of the ac components are under the dash it just needs the compressor, lines and condensor to work. This is a one of a kind truck with the F-250 looks and the 150 ride with seat belts for six. Please pay close attention to the 100 photos they will answer most if not all of your questions. 1978 Crewcab 4x4

This 78 is a one of a kind truck! The owner wanted the look of the F250 Crewcab but not the stiff ride.

He started with a 1978 F-150 extended cab frame had it boxed and fishplated. The truck was a full frame off build eight years ago with the front and rear axels rebuilt. New suspension, coil springs, leaf springs and braking systems. The transmission and transfer case were also rebuilt. New radiator, u-joints and drive lines. The tuck has loged 30000 miles since the build but the 351w was just rebuilt and has only 3000 miles! This was a complete rebuild, new rings, bearings, rv cam, the heads were completly gone through. This truck runs and drives very nice although I did notice the steering box does have quite a bit of play. Maybe just needs an adjustment? The brakes work great and do not pull. I did notice the parking brake was not working. The 4 wheel drive works great and goes into gear easily.

The body is solid with no signs of rot. The paint is shiney but does show some wear and tear after all it is a truck. It still gets plenty of attention driving down the road.

The interior is nice. The door panels are in good shape as well as the dash pad. The Crewcab has been fitted with modern day seats with lumbar support and seat belts for six. The rear seats will also recline a little ways. All the gauges work and it even has a 38 gallon gas tank! The AM/FM cd player with pioneer speakers sounds great! This was an original AC truck all of the ac components are under the dash it just needs the compressor, lines and condensor to work.
