NOTE: If you do not like the skull on the hood, I can repaint the entire hood and it will be a Grade A job, but I will only paint the hood if the car is purchased. I have a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor for sale. 4.6 engine that DOES NOT leak any fluids or burn oil, Automatic. Has current registration and inspection till middle of next year. The intake has been replaced with Ford's re-issued and improved intake. The transmission has a new front seal and also got a tranny flush, originally a Illinois car from just outside Chicago but has no rust at all. Bought it with 70,000 miles on it, it now has 90,658 miles on it. I have several workshop manuals to go with it, not CHILTON'S, I have a complete wiring diagram book, parts list, owners manual, complete workshop manual that tells how to work on every part of the car, a fleet booklet. Windows are limo tinted on the back 3 and 25% on the front 2. Aux driving lights in the bottom of the front fascia. Spotlight works. Interior is tan and in very good shape minus one hole in the front drivers seat from the cops gun. Vinyl back seat cloth front. New headlights, has the 4.6 engine cover. Muffler delete with 3X16 inch tips on the exhaust. has ported and polished throttle body for better response, has an airbox mod to allow more air to the engine, new brakes. Has new tires. This car handles and performs great, get around 14-17mpg in town and 22-26 on the highway. Full size spare tire in the trunk, aftermarket radio and aftermarket white faced gauges for the instrument panel and heater controls. 30.00 console from walmart. The rims are satin black as well as the center door posts but dont have a recent enough picture with those in it, can get upon request, there is a big white skull painted on the hood because I was going to do a zombie theme on the car. Has the deepdish style center caps. This car has been taken immaculate car of. Have all documentaion on the car from the Police Department. Recently had a front end alignment. Cold A/C and hot heat. It is my daily driver and I love it but Im wantin to get a truck again for the new job im about to start. No low ballers or bs please, need to sell this ASAP but I am pretty firm on the price because this car really is a great deal and in excellent condition. Video of the car can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68ncWMc8H0c. The front seats have a steel "stab plate" built into the back so that a suspect being transported in the back seat cannot stab the officers in the front seat with a knife or other sharp object. All Police Interceptors also come with T-409 stainless steel dual exhaust systems without resonators. The 2004–2011 Police Interceptor is a 4.6 (280.709 or 281c.i.) and is rated for 250 hp (190 kW) because of the addition of a new air intake system. Mine is rated around 260-265 due to free flowing exhaust and TB port and polish. This includes a new airbox that resembles the Mercury Marauder airbox (raised airbox lid, deeper bottom), with an integrated 80 mm (3.1 in) mass airflow (MAF) sensor that is part of the airbox lid. This allows for much more precise flow calibration and reduces the chances of air leakage. The P71 zip tube (the flexible rubber hose between the throttle body and MAF outlet) is also used to reduce NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) as well as transfer air from the airbox to the throttle body with minimal flow resistance. On 2004 and newer models, P71's have a 200 amp (A) alternator and a 78 ampere-hour (Ah) battery. Ford used an aluminum metal matrix composite driveshaft for the 1993–2005 Police Interceptors as a measure to allow safe operation at over 150 mph (241 km/h), but it was more expensive than the regular aluminum driveshafts. Engine and drive train The Police Interceptor is equipped with an external oil-to-coolant heat exchanger to reduce engine oil temperatures, allowing the vehicles to idle for extended lengths of time without overheating. This engine oil cooler can be prone to seeping oil from the O-ring seals after the high mileage operation encountered by Police Interceptors. Automobile suspension Watt's linkage as part of an automobile suspension Watt's linkage used in a 1998 Ford Ranger EV The above image with the linkage movement animated Watt's linkage is used in the rear axle of some car suspensions as an improvement over the Panhard rod, which was designed in the early twentieth century. Both methods intend to prevent relative sideways motion between the axle and body of the car. Watt’s linkage approximates a vertical straight line motion more closely, and does so while locating the centre of the axle rather than toward one side of the vehicle, as more commonly used when fitting a long Panhard rod.[5] It consists of two horizontal rods of equal length mounted at each side of the chassis. In between these two rods, a short vertical bar is connected. The center of this short vertical rod – the point which is constrained in a straight line motion - is mounted to the center of the axle. All pivoting points are free to rotate in a vertical plane. In a way, Watt’s linkage can be seen as two Panhard rods mounted opposite each other. In Watt’s arrangement, however, the opposing curved movements introduced by the pivoting Panhard rods are compensated by the short vertical rotating bar. The linkage can be inverted, in which case the centre P is attached to the body, and L1 and L3 mount to the axle. This reduces the unsprung mass and changes the kinematics slightly. This is used on Australian V8 Supercars. Watt's linkage can also be used to prevent axle movement in the longitudinal direction of the car; however, this is more common in racing suspension systems. This application usually involves two Watt's linkages on each side of the axle, mounted parallel to the driving direction.
