Vehicle Detail
Here is a great project. A very dry unrusted 1966 porsche 912 project fresh from dry storage. I bought this car years ago because it was a complete car with matching numbers engine/trans......and it didnt need rust repair, just paintwork. This old car is fresh from storage and its dusty and dirty. The car is real complete and actually has doubles and possibly triples of extra parts in many cases. The motor did spin at one point but i tried to turn it and it didn't move today........I know enough to just wait for the new owners method not to force it. Often the steel piston rings can get just enough corrosion to keep the engine from spinning over........you can get them to release with either pb blaster down the intakes or spark plug holes, some guys like to use marvel mystery oil too. This car has really dry las vegas nevada sheetmetal, nice solid dry floors. These early floors are known to "potato chip" rust even on nice well kept cars.........this car does not have any of that, probably because the rubber mats were pulled off years ago to "restore" the car. In the pics posted the tires are low,I will make sure it has good tires to ship easily. The outside of the car has some minor surface rust,it was never in the elements but from years of sitting it has developed minor surface rust,no heavy pitting or anything like that. There looks to be some metal work done to the suspension pan area but no real rust I see. This would make a great easy low investment restoration project,no need for cutting and pasting, just paint and reassemble.......an amateur could easily handle this resto project. I am only listing this car complete this one time, after that I will pull the motor and keep it.......then sell the little parts and finally a nice dry shell. It is a well known fact these cars are more valuable parted out but my allegiance to the "porsche gods" make me list the car whole since it is a real sin to seperate a piece of history that has stayed in one piece all these years. While it is likely you could pay less and buy a running "ok" car for close to the same money.........unfortunately these "ok" cars usually hold a bunch of surprises hiding that end up costing much more. By building this car from this state you will know what you have, unlike the cheap "ok" "runners" that so often show up for sale. If you are after parts I have 2 other early 912s that have already started being parted out,a 65 3 guage car (now has no motor or trans but everything else and all correct 65 parts) and a 68 just filled to the brim with all those "little" parts......I have alot of early 911/912 parts. In the pics it shows a dash with no steering wheel and a dash with a steering wheel.........I will be installing the steering wheel pictured into the 66 which is pictured having no wheel. Also in the pictures in the background you might see 356s........these have all been sold already. Feel free to ask any questions or even call 503 668 8327. I have sold many cars to places all over the globe with only happy buyers on every transaction. In fact more often than not a far away buyer wants to buy from me again. We don't hide anything and you get what you pay for,I'm not sure why other sellers consistantly have trouble in this area. We always entertain trades for very early motorcycle and bicycle. As far as bicycles go we are only looking for original, unique or exceptional examples from the 1870s-1910ish. The motorcycles we are after are anything in absolutely any condition 1890s-1930.
