CLASSIC 1937 CHEVY 1/2 TON PICKUP IN ORIGINAL CONDITION This truck is a true survivor and has never been hacked up or altered. It has the original 6 cylinder engine with three speed transmission. The engine was rebuilt about seven years ago and only has around 250 miles put on it. I have rebuilt the carburator, master cylinder, starter, etc and it fires right up,runs great, and brake are working. It is very low geared but rolls along fine at 45MPH. I have not really pushed it hard to see what the max speed would be. I just use it to tool around my little town and make occasional runs to Home Depot and the like. The tires are weather cracked and should be replaced but hold are fine. It has the original 15" artillery rims which are pretty scarce. I never got around to putting in the new wiring harness but I will include it in the sale. Right now it just has basic wiring hooked up and brake light is working. This truck has never had a spec of body putty put on it but it has several spots welded up on the fenders over the years and has spots that were beat out. The roof has a pretty good dent in the top and there are a few spots of rust through on the tail gate. It sat for a few years in Northern Ca with no glass and water got in the cab and wasted the gas tank and the section under it. I have a gas tank from a 1938 in it now and I have a good floor section from another 37 to weld in if you want it. I will include that as well. I replaced all the glass with a dark tint and put in new window channel so the windows roll up and do not rattle when your going down the road. The front window cranks out and the hood vent opens so no problem getting air. This is a very solid truck but is not a cream puff. It has a real history and it's dings and scares really give it character. I love it just the way it is but if you wanted to do a full on restoration you have everything you need. It would also make a great street rod with a 350 thrown in. It is at the point with a little tinkering it could be a daily driver as is or a great restoration or street rod project. The 37 Chevy 1/2 ton is one of the best looking trucks ever produced in my opinion. Please ask any questions before bidding and bid to own. I am also parting with my 1944 Chevy Fire Truck if your interested. On Oct-16-11 at 20:01:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Vehicle Transportation Tools powered by Shipping Price Estimator Delivery Zipcode: uShip is the first and largest auction- style marketplace for shipping and transportation services. The original floor is in it and is solid but one corner is gone where the water pooled and a few pin holes around the edge. The gas tank itself has beed boiled out and is in fine shape. I have a tub section from another 37 Chevy you could replace it with and I will send that along if you want it. For me it really was not that important to fix. Can't see it and the tank is not going to fall out or anything. The chassis is in very good shape with no rust problems at all.I drive the truck as is but I would suggest putting some tires on it and install the wiring harness if you want to get the headlights working.I had planned to move the gas tank up under the bed but decided to keep it where it is.
