up for sale we have this amazing rare find. a 1981 delorean dmc 12 turbo. this was found at an estate locally and was purchased about a week ago. i've acquired as much information from the previous owners heirs as possible and will list here, though if you have specific questions please feel free to ask and i will get them answered from them. this delorean was bought back in 1985 by the previous owner, was driven on sundays and for a second vehicle ever since they bought it then. the car had been stored in their garage for the last 5 years as the previous owner was getting older and it was difficult to get in and out of the car. so the car has not been ran since then. the last time it was registered for road use was 2005 per the sticker on the windsheild. the car overall is in great condition, the body is straight and no dents or dings i can see. this is a 5 speed manual transmission car, and has a turbo system on it. i've had the car looked at briefly by a friend who indicated that all the parts and pieces were there--but a caveat, i don't know anything about cars or mechanical things so i can't answer those technical questions, but will get them answered to be best of my ability from the people i bought the car from. the interior is pretty clean though the seats have some minor cracking as pictured. please let me know if you need additional pictures or information and i will get it to you ASAP. thanks and good luck bidding; On Oct-18-11 at 20:50:08 PDT, seller added the following information: to answer a common question: the red stuff in the picture is just dirt from age, i didn't even notice it when i first took the picture it was brought to my attention only after the listing i'll take more photos when i get a chance to show that it isn't a rusted through body panel, but is actually just dirt/dust etc. i will post more photos later tomorrow On Oct-19-11 at 19:52:43 PDT, seller added the following information: more pictures just added. i put 2 shots of the back right quarter panel--the one that in the first photo looks to have surface rust. turns out the color reflection was just my red shirt. sorry for the bad shots on the passenger side, its tough to get the proper distance because there is a wall close on that side. the air cleaner for the engine is on the passenger side floorboard so it shows missing from the engine. another thing i noticed when i was out there today is that the passenger side door is kind of heavy to lift up, possibly the pistons or hydraulics that lift the door are going out? again if there are specific shots you want please email me i'll get them to you within 24 hours.
