Vehicle Detail

I'm relisting the car because it didn't meet the minimum after a newby got involved, ran the bid up, and basically messed up the entire auction from that point on. So lets try this again, with a lower minimum and this time, new people, if your feedback score is less than 5, please contact me before bidding. Sooo... here's the description from last time: Here's the story behind this vehicle, as best I know from what I was told and things I found inside the car: I was told it belonged to a family member of the Cowles car dealership in Sharon Springs, KS. I did find papers belonging to Rita Cowles inside. The story was they took the motor and tranny out of the car, put them in a T-bird that had been traded in with a bad motor, and stuck the car in the back room of the dealership, where it sat for over 40 years, until the dealership closed. A T-bird you're selling is worth more than a 4 door sedan-right? They figured they would eventually get around to replacing the motor in this one, but never did. At least that's the story I heard. A guy in Kansas bought it and planned on fixing it up, but already had enough to do, so I bought it. I don't have the time, and it needs to go to someone who can take care of it. STUFF ABOUT THE CAR: Inside it's in great shape, look at the pictures. It has power seats (front), although I have never hooked up a battery to determine if they work or not. It also has seat belts for the front seats. I was told the upholstry on the seats you can see is actually factory made seat covers. There does appear to be another layer of fabric underneath what you see (pictures). The headliner is in good shape, as is everything else. The dash looks great, everything is original and in good shape. I do have all three keys to the car that work everything, ignition, trunk, glovebox, door. There is a small stain on the back seat, visible in the pictures. The plastic floor mats have deteriorated and need replaced. The rearview mirror has some staining to it, see pictures. Ask any questions you have. The body is in about what you would expect of a car that had been driven for 9 or 10 years by a lady, then parked in a dealership. It has dings and small dents, a small amount of surface rust, but nothing major. The passenger side rocker panel has been worked on, probably dents fixed, as well as the driver side rear quarter panel behind the back tire. Both jobs appear to have been pretty well done, and both are relatively smooth and clean, although I would probably work a little more before painting. With not much effort and a new paint job the whole car would look like new. The chrome is in excellent condition overall, with some minor pitting here and there. The emblems are in good shape, the back better than front, both very clear with good color on both. The glass is in good condition, with no cracks. The drivers side window has some vertical scratches beginning to show slightly from rolling up and down. It isn't visible in any of the pictures. Ask any questions..... Mechanical -THERE IS NO MOTOR OR TRANSMISSION, so if you want to actually drive it, you will have to do some mechanical work. The good side of that is that it does look like someone simply pulled out the motor, tranny, drive shaft, and a few other parts such as the battery and radiator and parked it. I'm not sure exactly what engine was in it, but it has dual exhaust. There isn't a bunch of destructive damage done. It has power brakes. Obviously I don't know if they work. It has a matching set of Firestone nylon gum-dipped tires on it, with at least 80 percent tread left. While they still hold air, I wouldn't drive cross-country on them. It has the gear shift on the column for automatic transmission. So get your wrenches ready.... Got any questions? It's more like a used car without a motor and tranny than a classic in need of restoration-a little work on the outside, then a motor and tranny, but not a lot of "restoration". Pick your motor and get started, nobody else has done anything to it. Title-clear clean, no liens. Payment-$500 down using paypal within 3 days of auction end, otherwise I will relist. Full payment within 7 days unless other arrangements are made. Shipping-Come and get it, I will help you load it. If you're from another country and want to work with me, don't bother. QUESTIONS ANYONE??? On Sep-18-11 at 18:54:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Something I should have made clear at the beginning of this auction-If you have a feedback score of 5 or less, please contact me before bidding. This is a serious auction and if you bid, you are expected to pay. Please don't waste my time by bidding and not paying. If you are serious, by all means, I'll take your money. I'd just rather discuss it with you first as a "new" ebayer. Second and more important*****When I moved the car to get it ready for the auction I realized that when they took the engine and tranny, they also removed the drive shaft. The rear end is still intact, but THE DRIVE SHAFT IS ALSO GONE. Bid accordingly, I'm trying to run a clean auction and disclose everything I am aware of.On Oct-16-11 at 15:12:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok, someone looked up the VIN number for me and found this out: According to the numbers, it originally had a 225 6 cylider in it. However, that doesn't change anything about the condition of the car. It's still in really good shape, and I assume you could still put any engine and tranny in it you wanted. Thanks for clearing up which engine was in it first, I had no clue. I'm not sure why it has dual exhaust, or where the story started about the T-bird-that's just what I was told.
