Vehicle Detail

relisted The high bid of 5800 did not meet the reserve... so this time I Lowered the Reserve Also, since the previous listing, please note the following description changes in blue This was restored about 15 years ago, then always stored inside, and has cruising and show miles since being redone. Body work is pretty good for an older amateur restoration, there is an old patch in drivers floor and another in spare tire well, and the rocker panels appear to have been replaced. The previous repairs are pretty typical. Underneath, inner sills look good, there is no rust through in the bottom of the X member, and chassis looks very good..Bottoms of doors are not rusted through, as many are. Pictures are just as it came in , we did not even have to wash it.. Paint is fresh looking, tho' 15 years old, car has a 'new' top, clear rear window, very good Goodyear 165x15 tires, excellent Panasport UK wheels, seats had covers which we removed..drivers seat is worn but sits well, pass seat is good. Door panels are with the car, the fabric is good, but would benefit from new backing. When the car came in, the engine ran ok on gas can..One aircleaner is removed in the picture , so I could prime engine ...you can see carb is clean inside..it has now been re-installed. The car had been idle in a heated garage for a couple years, and the gas was OLD smelling ( which is why we ran it on a shop can earlier) . We have now drained the gas tank, and have now driven the car on the highway, which we had not done before . The clutch, shifting and steering work fine, and the car accellerates well. Warm, the engine starts without fuss, and makes no smoke or unusual noises. Oil pressure ,warm, is 60 at idle and 70+ at 3000 rpm's( see guage pictures while running) Exhaust is good. The brakes are NO LONGER soft. We drained the brake fluid, refilled and bled them, and the brakes are now 'at the top' where they should be... Bumpers are straight , chrome has aged patina. Grill is very good. Guages look original. Tach does work. Has a nice aftermarket dash facia. Very good quaility top has not seen much outside weather. Rear window is clear, not fogged. This is a respectable 10 footer, great for someone who wants a toy (that now drives) without paying for a show car. Paint looks like period type single stage. It has some dirt specs , minor flaws, and a few scratches, but is presentable as a driver.. You might drive it till Winter, then block sand the whole car and respray, or just leave it a 10 footer, and have fun driving it. . The car is not perfect,...There is a small stone chip in the windshield where the passenger wiper parks , and a light wiper mark on the passenger side bottom. The alternator light stays on sometimes. . I tried to look the car over carefully, I may have missed commenting on something, so please look at the pictures, and ask questions, as this is NOT a 20 thousand dollar Concours car, and it has typical 50 year old faults you might expect to find in a less expensive Triumph, but it is nice enough that your neighbor, or your wife(or husband) won't complain that there is a junk parked at your house Over the years, we have had a fair number of TR 2,3,4's ,250's and 8's . This is one of the better condition ones, but it is a driver, not a concours car, and it IS for sale at the shop, and elsewhere,. so listing may end at any time . Although I don't recommend, suggest, or guarantee it, you can probably drive the car home Yes, I have Title in hand. VIN # is CT 37476 this Triumph is for sale at the shop, and listing may be ended at ANY time OldSchool Restorations (of North Alabama) ALL offers " Buy it Now " will be considered Terms: $500 deposit by PayPal with 24 hours, and the balance by cash in person, or bank, within 5 days. On Oct-11-11 at 04:59:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Yesterday, Columbus Day, I took the car for a ride down the divided 4-lane that our shop is on, and posted a video on You Tube http://www.youtube.com/user/OldSchoolRestoration#p/a/u/0/P_gXBKwxATA My apologies for the wind noise, especially in the beginning, and some darkness due to the heavy clouds you will see. A bit difficult to drive one-handed, while holding the camera, but it does show the car is in 'get in and drive' condition. I did notice the speedo not working, and again the charging light on. Oil pressure shows well, I was told the engine was done over, and it appears to be so. Overall, the car drove without fuss, no unusual noises or vibrations at highway speed. Exhaust has that mello sound that says "Triumph" . The car is parked inside one of our other buildings, and will remain inside until pickup. The inside door panels are in the trunk/boot On Oct-14-11 at 17:28:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Today I took a dozen or so pictures of the rockers, wheel arches, and underneath...all of which look pretty good, but I can't add them to ebay. I can email them to your email address. and...I have lowered the reserve
