Vehicle Detail

You are looking at one of the best Capri's around. This car is in fantastic condition. It is my personal car, not a quick flip. I have owned two of these Capris and find them a great value. It is a low mileage car, only 88 K miles ! If you are not familiar with these Capris, they use a Mazda 323 engine and running gear, similar to a Miata. This means a very dependable engine and great fuel mileage. I have never gotten less than 29 and have gotten as well as 34 on the highway ,even driving too fast :) This car also has 4 wheel disc brakes!! The interior is great, the carpet is good as well as the seats. There are not worn areas on the seats like many Capris have. The glove box door opens ( a Capri problem with the latch ) perfectly and the door pulls are all there ( another problem area on many ). There is a AM/FM CD player with remote and features a USB port and aux for Ipod and such. The four factory speakers are used and sound great. Everything works inside, AC blows cold, always has. As you can see the exterior is sharp. Many people describe their paint as a 20 footer, 15 footer, even 10 footer as to how far you have to be for it to look perfect. Well this car is a 2 footer :) As you can see, it looks great. There is no rust, anywhere. Some Capri's have problem with rust at the lower part of the front fender. This car is completely rust free, total confidence. The tires and wheels have only 4K miles on them. The wheels are American Racing and the tires are Fusion in 195/60 HR size and speed rating. As an added but very important bonus, this car has a hardtop ! And, it has a caddy to store the top on when it is off. The last picture shows the hardtop on the caddy. The hardtop features a done light and rear defroster!! So this car would make a great year round vehicle if you were so inclined. The convertible top stores completely out of sight, which is usually found on very expensive cars. This makes it look great with the top down. You will be getting a car you can jump in and drive home, no problems. I would drive it anywhere. I am the second owner. The first owner was an elderly man. When I bought it, he was 78 years old :) You are getting a very nice convertible, with a hardtop, that is reliable, gets great MPG, will turn heads and give you a lot of enjoyment for a small outlay of cash. It's really a good value. Whether its a weekend car, or a car for your teenager, its a great deal. My reserve is very reasonable because I need to sell it. Most Capris sell for $1000-$1200 if rough, $1500-$2000 if decent up to $2500-$2800 if clean and mine . . well I would say its above that in condition. It really looks as well in person as it does in these pics. So, I hope I get more than my reserve, because its worth it, but I need to sell as I bought a little Mercedes; can you blame me?? :) I need $500 by PayPal within 24 hours, the rest can be paid in person when the car is picked up. I need the car picked up within 7 days from the close of the auction. The GOOD :Great conditionLow MileagePerfect interiorHardtop and dollyReliable Mazda powertrain The BAD:idles high when first started in morning, once warmed ( couple minutes ) it idles normalneeds new soft top, BUT it is included. I bought a new top and never installed it. Its a Mercedes material top ( high quality, better than OEM ). It is a DIYer job on these cars not compicatedbut I never did it. The old top is still on the car. The top comes with instructions. It really isn't a difficult task. The air bag light flashes. Sometimes when you stop and go into a store, and restart, the light will no longer flash. This is common with these cars, some say the plug needs to be cleaned ?? For a 20 year old car, this is a sharp car. It even qualifies for historic tags in many states!! Good luck !!On Oct-10-11 at 06:41:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, forgot, the power windows work perfectly as well as the pop up headlights. Some Carpris have headlight problems, this car does not and never has. Both work just as they should. The exhaust system was a recent replacement as well, so no problems there. The trunk lid struts are weak and will need replacement. ThanksOn Oct-10-11 at 06:43:18 PDT, seller added the following information: The factory aluminum wheels come with the car as well. They have tires on them, not great, but usable. On Oct-13-11 at 17:13:05 PDT, seller added the following information: The bidding is getting close to the reserve ., . so don't give up. I did lower the BIN in case anyone wants to not wait and take a chance. If anyone is interested in talking to me, making an offer or whatever, don't hesitate in contacting me. I did want to give some more info about the new top. It is cloth, not plastic as most tops are. Its the same cloth that a Mercedes comes with, so it was first class and not a cheapie.
