Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1963 Scout 80 that I built for camping and fishing. I am selling this because I have not used it in years, it has just sat in storage. It was built a few years ago, not restored but built. The original 152 four cylinder was replaced by a 196 four cylinder topped with a Weber 2bbl carb w/ electric choke. The truck also runs an electric fuel pump, so it starts really well when its cold. The Scout still uses the original 10gal. fuel tank, which is not a problem because the engine does not use alot of fuel. The scout has polyeurathane spring bushings and body mounts. New clutch slave cylinder. Many new brake parts. New exhaust. Tires have less than 500 street miles on them. They are Maxxis Mudzillas, size 31X11.5R15. Steel wheels were purchased new with the tires. The Scout has a little bit of a shackle lift. The body was gone through. New floors from front to back. Parts from various other scouts were swapped in. The rockers were replaced wtih 2x4 .25wall tubing for side protection. The scout looks decent, but up close the paint could use some work. The roof rack is custom built out of aluminum, there are spots to mount 4 front facing off road lights. Front and rear bumpers were custom built from quarter inch steel. The front bumper is set up for a winch and fairlead. New wiring from front to back, with a new fuse block. LED lights front and rear. Scout comes with an Optima blue top battery. The interior is spartan. Nothing but the vital guages. There is a CB located above the windshield. Front bucket seats are out of a Nissan Xterra. The Scout runs drives and stops fine, but does need some small issues worked on. Such as fuel guauge, door latches need some adjusting, speedometer cable, and exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold gasket. Overall this is a perfect "retro wheeler". It has proven itself very capable off road, the all wheel drive option helps alot. If interested, I will throw in a second Scout 800 frame with SV266 engine, 4spd trans, and twinstick transfer case for an additional $100 Scout comes with a transferable NY state registration, and bill of sale.
