Vehicle Detail
It's a 1995 Mazda Miata M-edition. The M-edition is fairly coveted in Miata circles as the 1995 M-edition came with 15in BBS mesh wheels and leather seats with adjustable headrests, both of which are unique to the '95 M-edition. Like other M-editions, this one came with a Torsen LSD, ABS, and A/C. This one is a 5-spd, of course, as automatic Miatas are for old housewives. The basics: OBD1 1.8L 5-spd just over 200,000 miles. 15in BBS wheels 4whl disc Softtop, no hardtop. Leather, A/C, PS, PW, ABS. Torsen LSD bigger 1994+ brakes, etc. Moderate body damage, but nothing structural. Headlights, turn signals, etc all work correctly. Rear wing is missing. Leather is damaged. Car is unmodified but runs well, Engine, LSD, Trans, etc are all solid and there's tons of new parts. The Good: Engine has good compression, runs great. 31mpg city on 86 octane, drive anywhere. Clutch engagement is good, no grinds or wierdness with the 5-spd manual. LSD works great, minimal slop. Top has one small hole, and is in otherwise excellent condition with a glass rear window. Pioneer CD deck with Ipod integration. Heat blows hot & A/C blows cold. ABS works correctly No check engine lights of any kind. Brand new Mishimoto aluminum radiator & coolant. Brand new DS rear caliper & brake flush job. Brand new drive shaft from U-joints inc that has serviceable & replaceable U-joints, unlike the OEM unit. Brand new power window switch Belts/hoses/etc are all in good shape. No vacuum leaks. New DS front turn signal lens. The Bad: It needs at least two new tires. DS front & rear are shot, PS front & rear are directional Kumho AST's in ~80% condition, in stock size(195/50/15) that could be both swapped to the rear axle & rebalanced, with two new tires installed up front to balance everything out. If you stick with the AST's, this would be ~$65 a tire at Discount. With mounting & balancing it'd likely be around $~160 out the door. The previous owner did a piss poor install on the stereo & sub wiring he has in place. It works, but he used way too much cable and just stuffed the excess under the center console. The driver's side component tweeter is also missing. It is missing the battery tiedown It leaks oil, and has been for awhile judging from the underside of the engine bay. One out of 4 BBS centercaps remain There's moderate body damage to the DS front, DS rear, and PS rear. The trunk lid will need to be replaced. The spoiler is missing, presumably broken off. The leather seats are worn, with the driver seat being severely split & damaged, a shame as those seats are very unique and desirable in the Miata crowd. The various M-edition special bits like the special keys, the little M-edition trinkets, etc, are all gone. I have two sets of keys but they are locksmith copies. The car hasn't passed AZ emissions, probably will need a new cat to make it a daily driver. The rear trunk lock cylinder is missing, but the trunk opens from the console just fine. There are countless other smaller faults with this car, too many for me to know them all or list them here. Be aware of this! Cliffs: It's ugly but mechanically reliable, and would gets gas mileage. It's a pair of tires away from being a great reliable beater DD, or would be a great platform for a road race or project car build. Car is also listed locally. If you need more pictures or have any questions email me. Car has clean NM title but is located in Fountain Hills, AZ
