1964 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE BUG, VINTAGE CLASSIC SURVIVOR 23,530 MILES Well I'm sure no expert on V.W. BUGS, but this car just fascinated me. A friend of mine got it from the family who bought it new in Texas. The mom and dad ran a small airport and he was a pilot. Both parents have passed and this car has sat idle in an airport hanger since 1970. The family lost track of the title, so I can only offer a bill of sale. This car has just 23,530 original miles on it. Texas is very dry, and the car is 99% rust free.(the pan is exceptional). It's certainly not perfect ,and has a couple dings and scrapes, but all and all, it looks great for its age. The engine turns free, and I'm sure someone more mechanical, than myself, could have it up and going again in short order. I'm sure it will need a new battery fresh gas. fluids etc. It sits on brand new tires. (still have the nubs on them). If I do not sell it as-is, I will have my mechanic get it going, and re list it that way. This car has not been running in over in over 40 years, and it is exactly how I received it. (it's pretty dirty still). The engine number is 8014125 My opening bid is 3,000 with no reserve. I am selling the car as-is. I would much rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in anyway....Now that having been said... I honestly can't imagine finding a more original ,low mileage , or a more un- molested beetle like this anywhere. Term of sale I can not ship..... This means I can not crate, box, disassemble, or deliver to a shipping company. I will however be more than happy to assist your shipper, however I can. A $250.00 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 48 hours of the auctions end. The balance is due via bank/certified check, or cash in person within 7 days of the auctions end.
