I am selling my 1984 Porsche 944. I bought it because I had one years ago and I wanted a toy. If you know 944's you know the list of things that are wrong on nearly every one of them. But this car impressed me the first time I saw it. The dashboard cracking is much less than any others I've seen, the car runs and shifts great, the steering and clutch are tight, windshield is intact with no cracks, the hood emblem is in great shape and still has the colored enamel, and the paint is in fantastic shape and still shines nice. Air conditioner works very cold and heater works very hot. Wheels that are on the car are the upgraded black Porshe wheels. Exterior is red, interior is brown. Both seats have the typical rip down the seam and I put seat covers over them. Engine is clean. There are no oil leaks but I have found the radiator fluid level is quirky. In other words, if I fill the fluid up to the cold line, some will leak out on the garage floor when I get back home. It seems to like a certain level and it doesn't go below that or overheat in any way. Radio does not have power and I have never looked into why merely because I'd rather enjoy the ride with no radio. The car is garage kept and never sees a raindrop. As far as I know, the previous owner did not take it out in bad weather either and he sold it to buy an old muscle car. I only drive it for fun on really nice days and I have collector car insurance that limits mileage anyway. I had the two original engine/transmission sensors replaced about two months ago (without which the car won't run) because they were going bad. The speedometer gears are going bad so the speed shows about a 10mph discrepency and the odometer has quit working. So I have kept a log book of every time I've driven the car and the mileage I traveled. With that being said, the odometer is stuck on 09448 and I have only driven the car about 687 miles for an approximate total of 110135. If you check the NADA classic/older car values you will see a range of $4850-7400 (low, average, high values given) and this car would clearly qualify for the average range if not a bit higher. My priorities have changed and I would like to have the extra garage bay space before winter so I'm selling my fun toy. Shipping or pick up is Buyer's sole responsibilty. Vehicle must be picked up here in Cincinnati, Ohio. My work schedule is very flexible so I will certainly be happy to work with a shipping company's pick up schedule.
