Vehicle Detail
I have owned this car since 1976. It was manufactured 6/72 and received a mechanical and body restoration/upgrade by Hall Pantera in 1986. The car was stripped to bare metal, all body panels were restored and any rust eliminated with new sheet metal. No body putty was used. Square halogen headlamps, new European Tail Lamps, electric side view mirrors, a battery box (dropping battery below front trunk deck) and a retractable flush electric antenna were installed. All chrome is blacked out and the side marker lights were eliminated for a clean smooth look as originally designed by DeTomasso before US Safety Regulations. The car received two coats of primer, block sanded, and finished with white enamel (original factory color) and color sanded smooth (no orange peel typical of enamel paint). All new body rubber and felt was installed. The paint and rubber are still in great condition. The original Campagnola wheels are powder coated in gray close to the original wheel color. BF Goodrich Euro TA Radials with excellent tread are mounted on the wheels. The interior is finished in House of Connalley Burgundy Leather (seats, dash, door panels, firewall) with matching burgundy carpet and burgundy 3 color logo carpet floor mats. Burl wood inserts finish off the door panels. The roof is finished with a black liner and black visors. New VDO gauges were installed and all work properly. The radio is a Kenwood AM/FM Cassette circa 1986. The steering wheel is a 13” Lecarra 3 spoke with thick leather grip. Mechanicals/upgrades include: New Rack & Pinion steering unit Hall pointless distributor, high performance coil and Ford CD unit Aluminum Edelbrock Manifold Holly 600 CFM Carburetor (new 2010) New radiator with 50% greater cooling capacity than OEM Stainless Steel fuel line and filter Pantera aluminum 360º air filter with KN element European GTS Exhaust System, 2” primary tube headers with ANSA mufflers Rotary AC Compressor Koni shocks New Half Shafts New Center Force Clutch and Flywheel (new 2011) There is less than 15,000 miles on the car since 1986 and total original mileage as shown on odometer was 67,845 at the time the pictures were taken. Now slightly higher as I drive it on occasion. The 351 Cleveland Engine (replaced prior to my 76 acquisition) starts right up and runs strong. The ZF Transaxle shifts smoothly through all 5 gears. Overall the car is in fantastic condition with the following exception; the AC needs to be charged and will likely require a new dryer. The hoses date to 1986 and look fine but you might want to consider replacing them after 24 years. The engine oil, filter and transaxle oil were changed June 2011. Please note, bidders need to inspect car or arrange for a private inspection before purchase. The car will not be shipped anywhere (US or Internationally) without payment in full being received. Car is sold: As Is and Where Is.
