Vehicle Detail

1964 Impala 2 door hardtop with a 283 c.i. V8 powerglide 2 speed trans. This car is of "daily driver" quality and I pretty much drive it everyday to and from work. Its a blast to drive, cruises down the road with ease, very smooth. The little 283 is very snappy and runs well, the powerglide shifts as it should. The glasspacks sound great when that 283 is winding up. Clear Title in hand Following is an honest breakdown of condition: Engine: 283 c.i. sbc runs great, leaks a little oil but what 47 year old engine wouldn't? Compression on the cylinders is about 120-130. There is a "dead spot" in the 2 bbl Rochester carb just off of idle, need to either take off slow or completely mash it to the floor, once its past that very small "dead spot" there is no problems at all. The timing, the dwell on the points, and the idle are all set to spec. No A/C but heater works as it should Trans: Shifts well and as it should (leaks a bit around the pan gasket) Electrical: All works (except for the factory dash clock) the AM radio even works, all interior lights work, headlights, taillights, backup lights The body: Not perfect but not a piece of junk either. It has been re-painted in the past. The paint looks awesome from about 3 feet away. As you get closer you can see some dark spots or staining and looks like drops of water. The little spots are peppered throughout the paint and can only be seen up close (cant get a pic of them, they dont show up on camera). Otherwise the paint overall isn't too bad, definitely daily driver, but looks sharp goin' down the road. There are a few scratches and chips here and there. There are no major dents or eyesores and there is no active rust showing. Power brakes and power steering, work as they should, I put on new brake shoes all the way around also new coil springs and shocks on all four corners The trim isn't bad, chrome is in pretty good shape, the bumpers are okay with some chrome chipping off Interior: I have new door panels on order that should be showing up soon, the carpet is in good shape, the front seat, as you can see, needs re-covered, the rear seat is okay with a tear on the very top on drivers side, the dash isn't too bad but does have cracking, could use a dash cover or just remove and go with the metal dash, glass is all intact, windows operate as they should, the headliner isn't bad two spots that could be stitched (its not torn, just the stitching has broke in those spots) Exhaust: all new exhaust pipe with new Smith Glasspacks that sound great I rattle canned the underside of the car black, not to hide anything by any means, there is the typical surface rust on the underside I just thought it would look a bit better with a light coat of black on it. I am an honest person and that's an honest description of the car, it is what it is, a daily driver that with just a bit more TLC could be whatever you want it to, please feel free to contact with me any questions you may have. The only reason I'm selling is because I have purchased a 65 GTO that I have been after for many years and I dont have room for both. Thanks for looking!!
