For Sale 2001 V-6 mitt eclipse convertible. This car was bought in 2002 from the original owner by me for my wife in NJ. When we purchased the car in 2002 it had 25,000 miles. We have owned the car ever since. This car since 2006 has been used as a weekend car. We have serviced the car as directed by the owners manual. As of this past year we changed the radiator the front brakes and as of the last few years the oil seals and timing belt has been changed. and of course the oil about every 3000 miles. The car was being used a few weeks ago and i noticed a faint clicking sound coming from the engine area. the next time we used the car which was 2 weeks later the check engine light came on and the car seemed to be misfireing. I brought the car to the mechanic and he put it on the diagnostic machine. He in formed me that the #6 piston has no compression. The options were: He could pull the engine apart and try the fix the problem...although he wasnt exactly sure what it was, or replace the engine. This is a 3rd vehicle for us and to be quite honest i will not put any more money into it. When this car was running correct it was excellent and fast. The air is very cold. The am/fm cd player is original. Everything works well except cylinder #6 and the electric antenna makes some noise as it goes up and down. My guess is someone who works on cars could fix this and have a great fun fast vehicle. The car does run but not smooth. I would prefer someone to pick the car up but if you set up shipping i guess i could drive it to truck if its local. email me with questions.....please dont bid unless you intend to buy......thx!!
