NO RESERVE!!! 3500$$$ worth of new parts in last 7 months including nNEW TOP. I collect VWs am moving to a new house with less room. so i am selling my youngest VW a 1982 Rabbit Convertible. Karmann West German made. I bought her last November and did a lot of work through the winter to get her ready for spring. BRAND NEW Vinyl Top put on March 2011 with five year warranty New Engine work Dec. 2010- Feb. 2011 New Head, Cam, Three-way Performance valves (needs re-adjustment, Mechanic didn't have complete set of the large numberof shims needed and two are within range but clatter and need replacing.),New Timing Belt, Radiator, Hoses and Vacuum Lines, New Axles And Boots, Airfilter, Oil CHange and Filter, Distributor Cap, Brakes and Rotors Turned front & back. Mechanic shop is here in town so you can verify in person when you pick up about all the work. Plus i have the work orders from there that go with the car. He told me all the cylinders have good compression. Mechanic also reported oil pressure is good although the oil light flashes. Extra Parts that come with car: GTI door Panels, GTI Grille (does not fit this year), Old Head And Cam, Old Axles, 35+ Miles Per Gallon.Rarer fire Orange paint. Passed SMOG in March but Tags expired in July.After market alloy rims with full size spare and jack. Detachable stereo with Ipod Dock behind face. Dash is is remarkable condition, no cracks. New door handles though locking arms in door need to be straightened and drivers door needs to be re-alligned.All around rubber is very descent. Drives Striaght and handles great. few dents, one good one at the rear like someone backed into post lightly (see pictures). Carpet and most of interior in general good shape. all Glass is good. Sold As IS. Vehicle is here in Lake Isabella close to Bakersfield. Buyer will have to come monday through thursday to go to DMV to switch ownership where full payment will be expected in cash. the DMV up here is fast and uncrowded. buyer has two week from end of auction.
